Stayed at this excellently located hotel again , however they need to ensure staff at reception can string a couple of sentences togther in English , we arrived just after 1pm to be told it would be £10 if we wanted into our room for 12 .... when i explained it was already 1pm , he replied saying "yes wait... Pretty basic room. But tea coffee making facilities. Could've been a few more milks perhaps. We stayed as were going to Anniversary Games in Stratford which is close on the tube. Easy to find. Close to Tower Bridge station. Walk past a pub called The Minories which we didn't go in but has good reviews we later found out. Nearby... More

I've seen prisons run less robustly. Queue up for breakfast to be ticked off and given a plate, knife and fork, then to be presented with a substandard selection of (plastic) scrambled egg, bacon, sausage, tomato and beans. Rooms are very stuffy with only an oscillating fan to keep you cool, beds are hard and lumpy and quality of sleep... More

We spent five nights at the Travelodge at Tower Hill in a ground floor room and were extremely satisfied with our time there. The staff were friendly and helpful and went out of their way to our stay comfortable. In spite of the nearness of road and rail traffic we could hear no outside noise in our room. The breakfast... The hotel was clean and well presented, the staff overall were very friendly and helpful nothing was to much trouble for them to make your stay very relaxing. The meals provided where well prepared and freshly made. Enjoyed ever moment of my stay, highly recommended.

Considering travelodge have recently renovated all their hotels, the room was really basic. There are no plugs anywhere near the bed and this is disappointing (although I'm sure this wouldn't bother everyone). The bathrooms are small but tidy

My partner and I frequently visit London and therefore tend to stay in budget hotels to make things cheaper. We always book months in advance and have stayed at this travelodge for anywhere between £39-£79 a night. The main factor that makes us re-book this particular hotel is the location. It's minutes away from Tower Hill underground station and the... More

The room was clean and comfortable. As the room was not so big the lack of a luggage rack was a small minus. The staff was friendly and helpful. WiFi was a bit slow and payable if more than 30 minutes is used in a 24-hour period.

We recently stayed at the Travelodge near Tower Bridge, The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for us we were going to a concert at the O2 arena, The DLR is just at the rear of the hotel. which made getting to the arena very easy. the hotel was very quiet when we retuned we never... Stayed for two nights, comfortable room, excellent bed, good shower room, ok it's good a bit of outside noise as per other reviews, however it's slap bang in the centre of London, 5 mins walk from tower hill tube, Tower of London etc, staff were really good and the room was really clean, restored my confidence in travel lodges

Staying in Whitechapel

Neighborhood Profile
Whitechapel
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.
