We visited York and Albany to celebrate my partners 30th birthday on Wednesday. The 5 courses were delicious and the service was faultless. Everyone couldn't do enough for us and made us feel very welcome and the night special. Kamil our waiter was excellent and Will and his team of chefs who we were lucky enough to meet produced amazing... More

We stayed one night as part of a wedding party and we were very disappointed with the quality of the service and of the amenities. The presence at Reception was patchy, we were given no instructions when we checked in (about check out time, breakfast, ....) and the hallway on the way to our room was strewn with workers' tools.... I spent a weekend in London with my wife for a wedding and one of the options was York & Albany Unfortunately I was a bit disappointed.... The room was fairly comfortable with nice furniture but......A/C was not working and being on the top floor it was pretty warm (we were told no maintenance until Monday), two lights in the... More

Bought red letter days for overnight with meal for husbands birthday, after reading some of the reviews I was very apprehensive, how right I was. This place is like Fawlty Towers it is an absolute joke , from rude waiting on staff to disgusting meal shame on you Mr Ramsey. We stayed for one night in June and had to... More

Just returned from a fabulous birthday weekend at the York & Albany. The hotel's location, a stone's throw from the gates to Regent's Park, was a major factor in our enjoyment of the weekend. A stroll through the park brings you close to the shopping heaven of Regent's Street, a little further and we were at the Royal Academy Summer... More

It was really one of the worst hotel experiences I have had recently. Dirty, worn, smelly and did I mention dirty? The restaurant is fine but whatever you do: do not stay at this hotel. Run - don't walk!! Don't stroll. Sprint!!!

I wouldn't stay here again. To begin with, the restaurant is at the front and there is no sign to say where the actual hotel reception is. The door to our room is extremely hard to lock and unlock (especially after a few drinks) and it looks incredibly breakable. The room was too warm and the air corn was pointless.... More

Stayed didn't have a chance to eat. Comfortable bed. Pleasant room but at over £200 a night I wouldn't have expected lights out in the bedroom and bathroom. Also problem with coffee machine. Very noisy kitchen extractor under room 6 switched on very early. Public areas looking tired. Continental breakfast a little mean. Croissant cold and raw in the middle.... More

Staying in Camden

Neighborhood Profile
Camden
Famous for its sprawling cluster of markets and shops as well as for an embrace of all things counter culture, Camden offers a concentrated version of London street life. From bargain shopping and people watching to rubbing elbows in its abundance of pubs and bars, Camden is the place to be for many a Londoner. It is also home to some of the hottest live music venues in Europe. As packed as Camden High Street and its tributaries can get during the weekends, this neighborhood is right next to some of the city's most beloved outdoor spaces, namely Regent's Park and Primrose Hill.
