First of all the place was cold. Insted of looking at the temperature they looked at the calender in deciding weather or not to turrn up the heating. It was late April and rather cold. The solution was to use the (noisy)blow-dryer to heat things up. All the doors of our room stuck. the door to the bathroom did not... More

Friendly staffs and close to station, but not that clean. You need to pay by cash only. There are many pubs, shops, restaurants around; one pub is just on the ground floor of the hotel. We stayed here for one night while coming from Heathrow airport. It is 5 mins in cab from Acton town underground and that station has... More

We went to The Windmill and had soup, beef lunch and ice-cream, which was all very tasty. The atmosphere was nice and what made it was lovely customer service from each person that served our meal. Very reasonably priced (we used Tastecard) and would definitely go back.

Booked The Windmill because I was visiting a relative nearby and didn't want to travel far. The trip advisor ratings were a bit of a concern, but the photos looked good and I've a lot of experience of London hotels, so I don't set my expectations at unrealistic levels in this price bracket. We arrived two hours before formal check-in... More

Won't be returning. My friend and I wanted a bed to sleep in during our weekend away in London and this was about all we got. It's close to the Acton Underground and Overground and right on the high street, but once you get inside it's another story. You have to walk through the pub (there was a private party... More

This is a run down, ill kept, dark, dingy, dirty hostel ran by a unfriendly woman and her odd staff! We arrived and entered through a nightclub entrance to find the proprietor sat reading the paper, she appeared disinterested in us and our booking! We did not have a print out of our booking so were pointed in the direction... More

I attended a wedding here and stayed overnight too. Conveniently located on Clapham Common and just a 5-10 minute walk from Clapham Common Underground, The Windmill is a "boutique" style hotel with most of the bedrooms having been recently refurbished in stylish contemporary style with comfortable beds and crisp white bedding and plump pillows. Rooms have a mini bar and... More

I stayed at this hotel for three nights and everything was fine. Of course it is nothing special but it was the cheapest hotel I found in London and even so it was better than expected. It is located above a pub but it was not a problem during the night. The noise actually came from the street, which seemed... More
