Arrived at reception to check-in and ignored by guy on reception whilst he finished watching his youtube video. Room was advertised as with a private bathroom- just a shower cubicle and sink. Drains stank in the room! Toilets upstairs have the strangest design. No soap to wash hands in the toilet/shower. Curtains in our room didnt even cover the whole... More

We were 3 + 1 baby. We booked a room for 2 nights and when we arrived they said the hostel was FULL so we could not stay there. The only 2 options they gave to us were: 1) Cancel and not paying the cancellation fee (of course not!!) 2) Sleep one night in a hotel and then change to... More

An unfriendly welcome at reception, which was a bad start and it set the tone- compounded by the disgusting (uncleaned) toilets, the trek up 5-6 stories of increasingly hot stairs to our room, and the bunk bed when we were expecting a double! The main point is the greeting- if we'd been made to feel welcome at reception we might... More

The hostel is very basic, not very clean, the beds are a bit frail (the overweight person above me broke one of the badly-welded bars and I'm happy he did not fall on me during the night). Internet (WiFi) didn't work as promised. The bath was unclean. We slept and got out as fast as possible.

A few friends and I were meeting up in London for dinner and a night out and needed somewhere to cheap to rest our heads between the night clubs closing and our trains home the next morning as well. This hostel served our purpose well. We booked a 6 bed private dorm room for the 5 of us and this... More

Went to London with 2 friends from work and raved about how great hostels were so booked this hostel as the prices were very good and the photos of the rooms on the website looked good.............however, i have never been more disappointed in my life!! Having stayed at other hostels in Europe (I know we shouldn't compare, but London is... More

The staff bordered on rude and was never very helpful. Also, they failed to mention that they were renovating the building during our stay and wet paint was inevitably everywhere. The wifi service was terrible and either didn't work or was overcrowded to the point of futility. It's a great value for the location, but otherwise I wouldn't stay here... More

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighborhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
