My stay here was very pleasant. I stayed in a 6 room mix room and didn't have any issues. Breakfast was only a 1 pound donation but I'd recommend buying your own items to have more variety. Probably the worst complaint I have about this place are the stairs. Oh my, those were a beast but required since there isn't... More

I stayed in this hostel for only 2 of my nights in London and I wish I had booked more. The dining room and lounge were great places to meet other travelers and the staff seemed happy to be there. The walls are covered with events and activities that you can do nearby. With Hyde park less than a block... More

Staff was incredibly nice and seemed more like a small family than coworkers. They watched movies and Netflix in the common room later in the evening. The kitchen was huge and very clean. Their breakfast costs £1, but it all goes to a charity, which we really liked. They have activities at the hostel multiple times a week, they had... More

The beds were clean and the building was well situated. The staff was nice and helpful. However, our room was on the sixth floor and there were no elevators, and the bathroom was kind of dirty and smelled weird. Overall it was a decent place, not outstanding but ok.

We stayed for two nights in a 4 bed ensuite dorm and two nights in a private double room. Both rooms were quite functional. The location of the hostel was fantastic, one block away from Hyde Park and about a 10 min walk to the nearest underground station. The hostel wasn't too loud, it was clean and the staff were... Myself and 3 friends stayed in a private room with ensuite and were very impressed with our overall experience. The place was clean, neat, modern (although in a beautiful old building) and had great features. The common lounge area was great, free wifi is always a bonus and the kitchen area and 1£ charity breakfasts were always a good start to... More

This hostel just awesome. The staff are so great and friendly, the rooms are very clean, and the location is pretty good. We stayed in a 6-bed room that had a private washroom. It was nice and airy with a big window, and a lot of floor space. There were roll-out cages under the beds to lock up your stuff... More

I stayed at Astor Hyde with a friend for 3 nights. It was pretty close to the tube, like 5 blocks walking. The staff was rally helpful and nice, they even took our luggage to the room. Breakfast was just right, for only 0,50 cents (donated to charity) we had all we needed. The neighborhood is really really nice, right... More

I was in Astor hostel last week with my 4 girlfriends. We have the room on 5th floor so we have our privacy in everything. It was my first time staying in a hostel and i will definitely stay there again and again. The place in Kensington was great and such a rich neighborhood.10minutes from the underground station and just 2minutes... A great hostel. Clean, well located and very safe. The staff is amazing, absolutely helpful and kind all the time. A ridiculously cheap breakfast (50p and you have free coffee and tea all day long) and wide rooms. Only bad side is you don't have plugs right next to your bed, but who cares anyway. P.S. Craig was probably one... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
