We arrived only to be told that the room we'd booked and paid for had got the decorators in and as such we were unable to stay! The housekeeper, who spoke almost no English, said there was another room in the basement, but for a family of five this was very unsuitable When we protested she became very upset and... More

We were really worried after reading other reviews but were very happily surprised by what we found. We were a group of 5 ladies in the family suite with patio in the basement (apt 7). The room was very big and could have in fact slept 6 people. Lovely bedding all very clean, a massive TV, the kitchenette was excellent... More

We booked to stay at Draycotts for one night in a two-bed apartment, but 'Amin' contacted us the day before our trip and cancelled our booking with the excuse 'there are building works next door'. He promised to arrange alternative accommodation but failed to ring back and did not answer the phone to me. This left us with no alternative... More

We arrived only to find that there was no water in the apartment and that was no alternative room. The only person there was the building manager who did nothing other than say we needed to contact the agency, as there was nothing they could do. I could not get through to any numbers provided and they switched the lines... More

Terrible place. Rooms not maintained at all, broken parts, water falling from the ceeling when it rains. We were without water in the room for two full days (when we left no water yet in the rooms) without any explanarion. In the photos you will find some details of the room in full decadence. Awful experience.

We turned up for our first 5 night stay in Draycotts of Chelsea, after standing on the doorstep for 30 minutes before finally contacting somebody to talk us through how to get in the front door. We had to walk up 4 flights of stairs with our summer holiday luggage plus 2 young children and stroller. The apartment is a... More

I argued with him for a long time and then finally got another room in the basement. Anyhow, Nothing worked in the room #5 which was given to... More

Staying in Chelsea

Neighborhood Profile
Wealth courses through The King's Road, Chelsea's upmarket artery of West London life packed with shops, eateries and glitzy nightspots. For people-watching at its best and luxury retail therapy that's largely unrivalled, this area cannot be missed. But if this showy street starts to overwhelm or a moment of price tag shock sends you reeling, a quick detour down pretty much any of many King's Road veins will reveal a quieter side of Chelsea. Here the stately Royal Hospital hosts its world-famous flower show, and the Thames rolls along at a lazy pace, with leafy Battersea Park and its Peace Pagoda beckoning from across the river.
