I spent 2 nights at the Harrington in a deluxe studio on the 5th floor and I was really pleased. Everything was exceptionally clean (a couple of items of furniture and the floor do seem like they're a bit worn but there are so many good things about this place that it really didn't matter) and there are all the... This is a wonderful alternative to a hotel stay. Located very close to the Gloucester Road station and many wonderful restaurants. The staff is wonderful and extremely helpful. This feels more like owning a flat in London than a vacation.

Our 2 bedroom apartment was on the 5th floor. We stayed 6 nights in early June. It was very cold in the apartment and it took 2 days until it was comfortable to stay there (please note that we are used to 22 Celsius degrees...). Kitchen was well equipped. The apartment was clean and everything worked. The staff was very... More

The hotel is well located and close to the Gloucester Road tube station. The staff were friendly and helpful and the suite was large and well appointed. The street was a bit noisy at times with pickups and deliveries in the early hours. The beds were comfortable. The only negative aspect was that the unit was very tired. It urgently... More

Hello LarsNorth, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a TripAdvisor review. Our staff will be extremely pleased to hear you found them so helpful and friendly. We’re extremely lucky to be so well located in South Kensington. Unfortunately though that does mean, on occasion, the area around The Harrington can be a little noisy as our neighbours... More

I spend time in both hotel rooms and serviced apartments. London provides a bigger challenge than most cities. Hotels are expensive and apartments are variable in quality meeting the blurb on the booking site. The Harrington was (and is) a pleasant surprise. It delivers what it says on the can for a reasonable price. Clean but make sure you chose... More

Hello Stephen, The entire Harrington team would thank you for your very kind comments. We strongly believe we are a fantastic alternative to hotels, offering great value for money too. Not only that but our serviced apartments provide so much more than a hotel (e.g. a fully-fitted kitchen per apartment and regularly laundered sheets and towels). If you are a... More

Great location and staff. Everything is nearby and at hand. You receive very good value for your money. Tube (subway) station is a 2 minute walk away, a good selection of restaurants are one minute away and the famous and excellent chicken restaurant from Mozambique, Nando's is directly across the street. A must eat stop.

As a long time returning resident of London I found this places to be both roomy, clean and close to everything. The staff were well trained and the housekeeping team spot on. It is so close to the museums and most importantly on the Piccadilly tube line which will get you to all the important parts of London as well... More

We spent 6 days at The Harrington last week. We booked our accommodation about 9 months ago. The staff were very welcoming and obliging. The room however (not a basic room) was appalling. The paint was coming off the wall in the bathroom in more than one location, the enamel in the bath was chipped, the waterflow was more like... More

Not a good idea being on level 5 when the one and only elevator breaks down and is not fixed that day. Five Flights of stairs up is quite discouraging for a quick coffee across the road etc. This happened on day 2 of our 3 night stay and the elevator was not fixed when we checked out on the... More

Thinking of London's Hotels, the room is spacious. I had a 2 room apartment. One room consisted of a living room with a dining table , a sofa and a nice armchair, a well equipped kitchen. The other one was a bedroom. This room was not well organised. The cupboard was in an inconvenient corner and the bathroom was very... More

Staying in South Kensington

Neighborhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
