As other reviewers have commented the 2 down-sides to this hotel/pub are the lack of lift and street/rail noise. However, the plus sides outweigh these minor niggles. We were given a room on the fourth floor and a lift would have been good (we are both in our 60s) but the guy who checked us in carried our bags up... More

I have never EVER stayed somewhere like this before..... All the staff seem to not speak a fluent word of English and I found incredibly rude, no smiles or anything. I wasn't asked how our stay was on departure and I found the staff incredibly unhelpful and unapproachable. As soon as you walk into the 'hotel' part it stinks. The... More

You know what? I've been in worse. Definitely been in much, much better, but I've been in worse. Depends what you're looking for. Sometimes I'm in London with lots of time to spare and want luxury, sometimes I'm with my family and want clean and functional, but this time I was there by myself for one night for an event... I'm sorry but there is no way on the planet this hotel can merit a star rating. Understand me, the staff were fine (a bit slow but...), the venue central but, and this is important, that the hotel NOWHERE on its site mentions that it is right on top of Waterloo East train station (the pedestrian walkway cuts through the... We stayed here for 3 nights in Sept 2011. The location is great right over the road from Waterloo station. There was some noise but not too bad and we were in the room on the corner above the door in the photo. They give you a key card to get in the side door so you dont have to... More

Stayed just the one night in October '12. Very good pub downstairs, but walk through the doors to the rooms and it's like you've stepped from a scene out of Mr Benn, when he goes back to Victorian England.......in the days before vacuum cleaners and Pledge! The bed was clean, errrrr, that's about it. The bathroom was grubby, the curtains... More

My dad stayed here for a week and myself for one night whilst my mum was having an operation at St Thomas' Hospital. The food is good and the staff are really friendly and helpful. I was quite worried about my elderly father staying alone in Waterloo, however, I needn't have worried as Mark and his staff made him feel... More
