I had been wanting to visit this hotel for a years, ever since I found out about its existence. I'm a big Hitchcock fan, and so I was excited that there was a hotel in honor of him. I assumed it was going to be decked out with fan memorabilia, etc. - but it wasn't as exciting as either my... More

First of all i want to say a big thank you to Alan for his warm hospitality and to the girls who prepared every morning our breakfast. We stayed for 9 nights at the end of december and we consider us fortunate to find a family room for 4 at good price in London. The structure in victorian style has a bar... We didn't recognise the place, clean refurbished public areas and bedrooms. Rooms are clean and updated, thick shutters in the our front room meant traffic noise is silenced. We attended for a function and although didn't eat in the restaurant, were told the food was very good by friends who had eaten there. We were impressed with the buffett provided... More

I experienced a warm reception, a convenient and efficient booking system with competitive prices for a London based hotel of its rating. The location is okay with close proximity to public transport.

Initially sceptical but as we returned for our third visit in as many weeks, realised what a true gem this is! Good honest great value for money, super food, kind and caring staff, comfortable clean rooms what more can anyone ask? We will most certainly return as it is perfectly situated for trips into London but opposite a lovely green... More

This has proven to be one of the most difficult reviews to have written. A quick scout through the reviews which come before this show such extreme variation from the highest praise to the 'Worst service ever'. And one can see why.......one plus for some is that the hotel is across the road from a lovely open meadow and ponds... More

Waited an hour for starters, then half an hour more for mains and then half an hour again for dessert. All the food was pre ordered 2 days before hand so this waiting time was unacceptable. I was told they only had 2 chefs in the kitchen. Which I understand would have made it difficult for them. But as a... More

The hotel is rather inexpensive for the area and the rooms are ok, I hear some upgrading is taking place soon. Good vibe in the bar and the rib eye steak I had was the best I have had in a long time very tender cooked as I asked for it and nicely presented with peppers, corgette and roasted tomatoes... More

Well presented, warm roaring fire, comfy, amazing food, cold beer, kind welcoming staff. Bus stop just outside for connections to leytonstone tube station and central line into london and same bus stop for the night bus too. Easy parking.
