We spent a month in the UK and Europe using Sir Alfred Hitchcock as our base. Because it is was reasonably priced we kept the room and left our extra luggage there whilst we were traveling. Our room was basic but clean and the bed comfortable, good value for money.

What a nice surprise! Totally did not know this hotel was there! Was invited for a 21st birthday party last night. Nice size function room and bar staff were really freindly and helpful. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. I didn't stay at the hotel, so unfortunately, I can't comment on the rooms.

This is NOT a great hotel for a week's sightseeing in London. It IS a great hotel for an overnight stay if going to an event nearby. I would have given it 5/5 (based on value for money) except there were a few problems - noisy plumbing for example. The reason for rating it IS the value for money. £49... More

This is fairly basic but clean and easily reached. The staff are not particularly warm, and the breakfast is adequate. For me the lack of a lift was problematic, and the eccentric access arrangements a little awkward (you enter through another door up another flight of steps with another set of keys. So altogether modified rapture. The visitor is I... More

On my way to London for a retirement party, my wife phoned and said I could stay overnight. I have stayed at the Alfred Hitchcock before, and on the off chance stopped to see if they had a room. Success! the last one available. Room was fine, with decent size shower. Facing the main road can be noisey, especially on... More

We stayed here one night last week having made a telephone booking some weeks ago when unable to find anywhere else in the area for a family gathering in Walthamstow. At £49 incuding breakfast for an en-suite double room in London we were unsure of quite what we would find. We had read mixed reviews but didn't see anything awful... More

Room was not large, but was pretty cheap and was better than you would imagine for the price. Lots of exposed beams and panelling lent a good atmosphere. Take earplugs; on a main road, but not overly noisy. Food and breakfast was OK, but nothing to write home about. The stand out was the service. Just excellent. Will book again... More

My husband and I were visiting friends and booked a room. We actually met on a blind date here 7 years ago. We never booked a room then I hasten to add !!! So it was nice to return. As other reviewers have stated, the rooms are clean and warm and the breakfast was enough for us. An iron and... More

The hotel was recommended to me by a friend who lives locally. I was a little concerned that the B&B rate almost seemed too good to be true. Don't bother trying to enquire online - just ring them and speak to them. There wasn't a huge amount of parking, but luckily I got right outside the front of the hotel.... More
