I understand that the price is low, but that doesn't provide reason for the service I got. I had read on the website I booked with that there would be an elevator, curtains around the beds for privacy, and friendly willing to help staff. From the moment I checked in I was given incorrect information, not fully informed, when I... More

Hi Megan, Thanks for taking the time to review YHA London St Pauls. We appreciate your comments about our beds being comfortable and that we are manned 24/7. I am not sure where you booked our hostel but no where on our website does it state we have an elevator. We are a grade 2 listed historic building therefore dont... More

I am a 50 something solo traveller and had always stayed in hotels. Why not be more adventurous and stay in a youth hostel asked a friend. Well because I am not a youth was my reply. You may be surprised she said. And indeed I was. There was other solo travellers as well as groups and a mixture of... More

St Pauls YHA ticked all the "yes" boxes for our school group (aged 17 to 21) coming from Avignon ! Ideal location for most visits within walking distance, pleasant rooms and very well kept facilities, great evening and morning meals and very convenient packed lunches, most kind, helpful and understanding staff. They definitely made our stay in London a memorable... More

We stayed here for a few nights whilst in London last autumn (2015) We had a family room to ourselves. It is within a short walk of St Paul's Cathedral, and it is wonderful to wak up to the chimes of the clock itself. We would definitely consider coming to stay again- particularly as they help organise theatre trips etc... More

Like I always say, I don't expect much from hostels. This one was pretty decent. The staff were lovely, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good as well. It was a short walk to the cathedral and down to the Thames or an underground station if you want it. The only issues I have are, firstly, that there's... More

We were a family of 4. 2 adults, 2 children. Room was spacious with locker space. A bit of noise out the back when trying to sleep - of course this is London so don't expect it to be silent. The beds were comfortable and rooms warm. There are plenty of shower room/toilets and large luggage room to put your suitcase... More

We booked a family room for 2 here which meant it was private. As it was just before Christmas, hotel rooms were very expensive so we booked this in advance as an economy. We spent the extra on going out and mulled cider which was much more enjoyable. The room was tiny with bunk beds and lockers ( take padlocks... More

This hostel was amazing. It's located literally right next to St. Paul's cathedral. There are a number of places to eat within steps. Also within great walking distance to nearly every part of the city. For those who prefer to not walk or for the farther sights, there are a plethora of buses that have stops and run from St.... It has a perfect location, less than one minut from St Pauls Cathedral. Very cheap, clean, comfortable and safe. The staff was always very correct and helpful. Highly recommended hostel for young people.

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
