Finding a bed in London for 15 pounds is a miracle. Some pluses and minuses, but overall recommended. Pluses: bed was comfortable, each dorm room has its own bath and toilet, lockers are huge, friendly staff, very spacious common areas, drinks available for purchase until midnight, a 10 minute walk to Tate Modern and St Paul's is across the street,... I travel a lot with 2 children. We all have medical issues. YHA accommodation is fab and staff are so informative. Our stay at St Pauls provided me with the best nights sleep I have ever had in holiday accommodation. The bed was so comfy. As usual the breakfast didn't fail us despite 3 sets of dietary needs. However I... More

I came down to London for an evening reunion with university friends. The YHA St Pauls is my place of choice to stay. Superb location, free wifi (that works!) in the dining room, a decent, clean bed in a small dormitory, and really nice, clean shower facilities. And the friendly welcome at Reception counts for a lot too! I bought... More

The staff is very friendly, the breakfast is very good. Toillets and bedroom looked clean. Only one eletrical plug in the room seems short for 6 people to charge their phones during the night. No free e Wi-Fi, and low signal on 2 floor for paying costumers. On sundays the bells from st paul dosen't let you sleep till late.... More

Hi Luis, Thank you for the review you left us. I will of course pass on your comments about the cleanliness and friendliness to my team. With regard to the plug sockets, it is difficult with only 1 or 2 in the rooms and it is something we are looking into. Guests can always charge any gadget/phone securely at reception... More

The hostel is great. It's easy to get to. The staff are friendly. check is quick. It's really quite unlike some hostels I've stayed in. The rooms aren't massive and due to the age of the building there aren't many power points in the rooms. The breakfast was good value as well.

If you don't expect too much, you will not be disappointed. The international and multilingual reception staff are unfailingly polite, friendly, and helpful. I got a triple room for £70.00, which, considering the location (in the shadow of St. Paul's cathedral) is good. I cannot imagine three adults, even small ones, and their luggage fitting into the tiny room (up... More

An excellent place to stay. The staff are helpful. the room clean and airy, interesting area of London; Breakfast is nothing to write home about though; plentiful, but the cooked breakfast isn't kept hot; I waited for a fresh tray of tinned tomatoes to be brought out, but they were only warm.

Beautiful building in an amazing location. You can't order food when there are groups in and there is no self catering, most evenings I was there it was not possible to eat there. Not very convenient especially as there is no means of finding out exactly when the kitchen will be closed (you get different answers from the kitchen and... More

Hi Harvey Nobum, Thank you for taking the time to review us at St Pauls. I was disappointed to hear about your experience with the kitchen team and this is something I will investigate. We serve our Menu every evening between 5pm and 8.30. If we have a large group dining with us we do offer the menu however there... More

Staying in City of London

Neighborhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighborhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighborhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
