I was staying here for a few nights before a Top Deck tour. Firstly the hostel is huge and has a great bar. There were a number of large groups staying here but also some solo travelers. The breakfast is okay. WIFI doesn't work throughout the hostel which was disappointing. Staff were helpful without being overly friendly. I had booked... More

I stay here in november 2014 and i just love the atmosphere, the staying area and the clash bar. The breakfast in fine and the unique thing that is missing is individual lights and plus for each bed. The temperature should be look carefully.

The location is excellent. This place is huge. Loads of people, yet quiet for sleeping. The beds are fairly comfy. What really stands out for me was the how helpful the staff were. They really took the time to help me out with everything, including some issues that I was having with my phone. The pickup for the free tour... More

Spent 8 nights in one of the twin prison cell rooms. These are quite literally old cells...they have been painted but are very cramped as one might expect. Only other concern would be that a peephole window can be opened from outside the cell in the corridor. Though I would recommend bringing earplugs to this hostel (rather noisy at night),... More

I've stayed at Clink 78 several times now and i love the place. The last time i stayed, the fire alarm went off at 3am which made me worried as i'm disabled and unable to use the stairs should there be a fire. The next morning, i explained my predicament to the girl on reception who promptly moved me and... More

The hostel is very nice, nice looking. It's an ex Court of justice. There is a very nice kitchen. The rooms were ok but not really good. And the negatice point is there is not any locker inside the room. The bar was amazing, with wonderful bar team. The best ones were surely the French girl Cynthia and the spanish... More

Stayed for one night in a twin. Can't fault anything. It was one of the cheapest places I could find so I wasn't expecting much, just a clean and comfortable place to stay which is exactly what we got. Staff were good - very helpful. Toilet and shower facilities were fine and were kept clean. Would definately stay again. Only... More

We booked a private bedroom for three of us where there is a bunker bed of single bed on the top and double bed in the bottom. The room itself is compact, and there are not many spaces to stand for three of us. But, honestly, it is not a problem. There are places for us to put our stuffs... More

I stayed in Clink78 for two nights. The staff in the hostel are very kind and helpful. The hostel has a nice kitchen where you can prepare your own food, but it gets very crowded around dinner time, so it is best to either come early or late. There are many places in the hotel so sit and have a... More

Hi There Traveller Thank you so much for staying with us and I am glad that you made use of our lovely kitchen and enjoyed our common areas. Unfortunately I do understand about the noise, we do ask our guests to be considerate of others but we can't control if they chose to follow our request. If this happens the... More

Last week my son and I stayed at this hostel for 2 nights and although the first night was ok, the second night was horrendous. I've never stayed at a hostel before but with it being London it seemed to be a cheap alternative to the normally overpriced accommodation in London. The first night we stayed in the cell and... Staying in Clerkenwell

Neighborhood Profile
Clerkenwell
Owing to its proximity to Smithfield Market – the site of an ancient meat market which remains in operation today – Clerkenwell boasts a plethora of globally renowned restaurants, fabulous local eateries, and some of London's favorite pubs. This isn't merely a focal point for all things foodie though. Spend enough time wondering through the area's maze of streets and you might become accustomed to the litany of slinky models passing between Clerkenwell's handful of fashion houses. Far outnumbering the models are craftspeople and designers, many of them are more than happy to welcome visitors into their studios and showrooms.
