The men and women at the reception/cafe area are so miserable. This area is the only area with wifi and the couches are gross. Its such a cool and vibrant reception/cafe area where they have bright colours and they play upbeat hipster music the whole time i feel the grumpy staff really let the place down as they drag down... Value for money! Good points: Central location, comfortable double deckers, clean rooms, good wifi, friendly staff, big self-serving kitchen, great advise on what to do London. Things you put up with: Bearable small toilets, you have to pay for breakfast (or make a run to the nearest Tesco Express). YHA is run as a non-profit, so we are very grateful... More

While the staff were friendly and helpful, the hostel was run down and crowded. My room had a comfy bed, individual power and reading light. But, there was 1 toilet and 1 shower for 8 people! The room smelled strongly of mildew and it made my eyes water.

Hi Samanatee, Thank you very much for taking the time to share with us your thoughts on your stay. I’m sorry not all aspects of your stay here were up to scratch. The hostel has been going through a lot of maintenance work in order to maintain the high standard we strive for, however during this period we did experience... More

We arrived to London after 1 a.m. and wanted to find a nice room for 6 people as close as possible to Westminster and as cheap as possible. YHA Central is perfect from all relevant points of view. It is excellently situated, with relatively cheap rooms, and we all were satisfied with its standards. Of course, walls are rather thin... More

Stayed at this hostel with a friend for four night is February. The location is excellent just the right amount of a walking distance to Oxford street and the tube. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The only downside is the wifi. There is no wifi in the rooms and in the lobby it is very weak. Other then... More

Hi Tanya Many thanks for reviewing our hostel and thank you for your positive comments. I do apologise about the wifi, at busy times we can have a lot of people using the network and depending on the internet usage it can affect the overall speed. We are constantly looking on ways to improve our service so your thoughts are... More

When you decide to stay in Hostel, you have to be aware that comfort and privacy are not requiriments. Perfect! About the YHA London Central, the location is perfect, you have a tube 10 minutes walking. The lounge is inviting, the staff handy, you have a breakfast for 4.5 pounds. My room, as I had asked, had a window and... More

Hi Milliveira, Thank you very much for taking the time to review our hostel, and thank you very much for your kind words. I’m sorry not all aspects of your stay were as good as others, unfortunately guests with lots of baggage in smaller rooms can affect space, however this is no excuse for unsatisfactory cleaning. I assure you all... More

I spent 3 nights here on my first non-family trip to London and was very satisfied overall with my stay. The facilities were kept very clean, although I believe in peak times the one bathroom and shower near my basement room would not satisfy demand. My room was clean with a locker and light beside the bed which is practical,... More

I stayed at a 8 beds room, the price I paid I think is slightly more expensive than usual hostel price. Things I like: it is located in a quiet neighbourhood and it is warm inside the hostel. Room for improvement: to provide a hanger for each bed and have a slightly larger basin. The electric plug beside my bed... More

Hi Anthony, Thank you very much for taking the time to leave feedback on your stay at our hostel. I’m very sorry that the washbasins were inadequate for your usage during your stay. Our washbasins in the room are quite small and are not designed to be used as a full size vanity style sink. Most rooms have separate shower... More

Stayed for a night on 10 December, as I needed somewhere fairly central & cheap. No complaints with the room or check-in/out. However the washbasins in the rooms leave a lot to be desired. They are far too small. Using them for anything other than brushing teeth is an impossibility. Also think about serving proper English breakfasts. Just because a... More

We stayed here for 5 nights in a 6 bed room with an ensuite bathroom and shower. The rooms were clean and all the furniture seemed almost brand new. The common room had a wonderful atmosphere and everyone who worked there was extremely nice and helpful with everything. The location is perfect. It's on a quiet street so you can... More
