Withe 4 people, we had a 4-bed-room with private bathroom. The bathroom is small, but OK. The room and bathroom are clean. The beds are with sheets. Staff is very international and all very helpfull and competent. They work fast and correct. Breakfast is extra, but enough and healty food. Other meals are available It's only 10 minutes by bus... Two of us (both college students) stayed here in early June 2015. It was our first stop in Europe and the staff was extraordinarily helpful with providing suggestions and helping us to get acquainted with London. The front desk has tons of information and can help you book tours, print boarding passes, etc. We were able to do a few... More

The YHA in Great Portland is a very friendly efficient modern structure a stone drop away from Oxford Street. The staff is young and a real breath of fresh air in London busy City Centre. It is possible and easy to book on-line, but dropping by is also fine, and you can get a direct vibe of the cosmopolitan environment.... More

I stayed here with my mum mid-April in a 4 bed dorm as a twin wasnt available. We chose the hostel due to its location and self catering facilities. The hostel location is great. A maximum 10 min walk to Oxford St and about 5 to Great Portland St tube. Both a Tesco and Sainsburys are within a short walk.... More

It has been 5 years since I used YHA in London. Travelling from Rome to London I decided to return to Central YHA. I am quite comfortable taking this option although anyone in their 60s or 70s needs to understand that this is a youth hostel and NOT a hotel. I was not the oldest resident - from what I... More

Stayed here a couple of nights and it was a pleasant experience. Clean rooms and toilets (very very small toilets/shower nearby the rooms, bigger toilets where the restaurant and reception is..). Friendly staff. The bed was good, clean sheets and you could charge your phone right by each bed. There was a looker right by the bed which was big... More

Me, along with 4 friends stayed at the YHA while in London. We enjoyed our time there and found it a nice spot. We booked the 6 br dorm and we had our own bathroom, which is a mega plus. We had no issues and everythign went smoothly. Would book again.

I visited with my husband and preschool-age daughter for a weekend stay. After booking the hostel due to its price point, location, and private room capacity I was then quite nervous about whether staying in a hostel was the right choice for a family stay. I need not have worried. The staff on reception were very friendly, the rooms very... More

The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. The offered tickets on discount to some of the local attractions. We stayed in a private room for four with a private bath. Only downfall was no air conditioning so it did get quite warm. Location was great, close to main metro stops and shopping in Soho. Also there was free wifi but... More

Hi Jenn, Thank you for taking the time to review us. We are very pleased with your comments and hopefully you will stay again. We are currently looking into providing air-con into all rooms as we are aware that in the summer months it can get hot and uncomfortable. Sorry for any inconvenice this caused. Wifi is also making its... More

Very convenient location for central location, just 5 minutes walk from Great Portland Street tube. Check in was efficient with just a short wait. I was in a six bed dorm room, which although big enough was an odd shape, with my bunk the corner, leaving it sort of wedged in, with about 18 inches to get into bed -... More

Hi Joanna, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are glad that overall you thought we were good value and you would stay again. The showers and bathrooms are something we are looking into as we speak to higher the standards for all our guests. Like you stated, unfortunately we do have building works going on... More
