This review is long overdue (Oct 2013!) but well worth coming back to write. The owners, Gayna and Simon, are delightful and so accommodating. We felt immensely welcomed right away and they were always warm and friendly (even when we broke the shower!) The suite was beautiful, well stocked and cozy. We have very fond memories of this house and... More

Captain Bligh House is worth revisiting if staying more than 3 nights in London as it is centrally located and only a short underground journey to Trafalgar Square and the West End. It is ideal for those who want to go on foot or even run - the main City parks are all within 15 minutes. The advantages of staying... More

Not all the jewels are in the Tower of London! Captain Bligh's House is a gem, located across from the Imperial War Museum, with buses outside the door that take you to many attractions in minutes. The hotel is charmingly decorated and we were warmly welcomed by our hosts Gayna and Simon. They are very knowledgeable about London, and a... More

This is a gem of a B&B indeed. Friendly hosts Gayna and Simon made us feel welcome and helped us in every way. Our room (The film Studio) was lovely and roomy with its own kitchenette and a fantastic view of the London Eye from the bedroom window. Close to public transport (Lambeth North Tube and Waterloo Stations and many... More

The rooms contained a beautifully equipped bedroom, sparkling bathroom and living area with a small kitchen. More than enough space to have friends in for a bit of tea. The Crow's nest is at the top of the house, a few stairs, but the climb makes it that much more fun and the view of the park across the street... More

Excellent place to stay in south London, near to Waterloo Station, Imperial War Museum and the London Eye. Forget staying in a hotel this is the place. We stayed for four nights with our two teenage grandsons in the Crows Nest and Film Studio respectively. Simon and Gayna were most welcoming and helpful with an introduction to the house and... Captain Bligh House is an absolute gem in a great location! We stayed in the London Apartment for four nights and it was absolutely perfect! We were warmly welcomed by Gayna and Simon on arrival (despite arriving an hour after we said we would - sorry again about that Simon and Gayna!) and Simon took our bags to the apartment... More

I stayed at Captain Bligh House while doing some research in the Imperial War Museum, just across the road. The location was perfect for my purposes, and access to central London is also really easy. The Houses of Parliament are a comfortable 30 mins walk away. I stayed both in the studio for a couple of days and then in... More

I returned to the Captain Bligh House in April for a seven-night stay in the Captain’s Cabin. (I fell in love with the Bligh last year in my first visit, a ten-night stay in the beautiful Royal Suite.) It is impossible to lavish too much praise on this extraordinary guest house. Everything is absolutely perfect. Gayna and Simon are the... More

We spent 6 nights in early July in the London Suite and couldn't have been more comfortable. Gaynor and Simon were most welcoming and helped us prior to arrival with some transport questions we had, a big tick for emails responses. Our Suite was very clean and had everything we needed, plenty of room too. We even had friends over... More
