We’ve just had a wonderful stay of over two weeks in Captain Bligh’s sitting room. Yes, THAT Captain Bligh. We often saw tourists gazing up at the historical plaque that hangs beside the matching blue front door. Up one flight of stairs, the newly remodeled “Royal Suite” has a beautifully sunlit main room overlooking the park at the Imperial War... More

I returned home from a wonderful trip to London two weeks ago, and now that my mourning period is over (just kidding!), I feel it's time to write a review of my home-away-from home. My mother found the Captain Bligh House listing for me, and after checking out their website for myself, I emailed Gayna and Simon that night to... More

This was my second time at the Captain Bligh House and won't be my last. Being welcomed with a warm embrace after travelling halfway around the world - there's just nothing like it. This time I stayed in the Crows Nest on the top floor. I LOVED it. It's warm, light, cozy, and very comfortable. Gayna and Simon are absolutley... More

How could you not stay in a house with so much history AND with a Blue Plaque ? All the rooms are lovingly prepared and you have an apartment feel to each of them. Clean and comfortable. Opposite the Imperial War Museum... Walking distance of the London Eye.... And The Southbank ..Near to Central London ..... When friends come to... More

Looking for a place to stay in London--especially when it's your first time visiting--is no easy feat. "North or south?" "Hotel or apartment?" "Holy crap, is that really how much it costs?" Unless you're lucky enough to stumble upon the Captain Bligh House on Trip Advisor. Then your search is over and your delightful stay in London is assured. My... More

We spent a week at Captain Bligh House last fall in the London Apartment. I'm going to echo what everyone else has already written- the suite was quiet, comfortable and clean; the kitchen is well appointed and it was wonderful to be able to cook for ourselves. I also can't emphasize enough how great the location is. We lay in... More

We spent two weeks at Captain Bligh on the Royal Suite. We booked a fairly spacious room with self-catering facilities. It was our first time in London and we wanted an affordable place in a location that could allow us to save time and money on commuting. Also, since we would spend 2 week on a very busy schedule of... More

We spent six days at Captain Bligh House in January, in the Crow's Nest suite. The suite was perfect ~ comfy bed, cozy living area and small but efficient kitchen and bathroom. It was nice to be able to make our own breakfast and have the option of eating in sometimes. The location was great, close to transit and within... More

Stayed here for 4 nights while researching at the IWM across the road. Very friendly hosts, excellent well appointed room and a great location. A useful book in the room detailed what to see and do locally and Gayna also recommended a number of good places to eat and drink, which were all good. Highly recommended.

Visited this place in the end of September to the start of October. I was there for 2 weeks on work experience. Fair to say i was pretty scared leaving home and being on my own for the full duration of the stay. The room I was in was lovely the location is perfect. Right in the centre and so... More
