Stayed here on business for a week. Great location! Near the local tube, not far from Waterloo as well. A good 15 minute walk to London bridge. Was perfect for me as the office was literally three minutes walk around the corner. This is a well priced (when I booked) and comfortable enough hotel in central London. We all know... More

To be fair the accommodation was clean and well located. Being only a 3 min walk from the Southwark tube stop was handy. I walked into the hotel and the ground floor lobby is a hallway with two small elevator doors with a sign explaining reception is on the first floor. I took the lift to the first floor and... More

Hotel was very modern and was up dated . The staff were super friendly. The rooms were brilliant very clean with comfortable beds. The breakfast was all you could eat and had a good selection of cooked and continental breakfast to chose from. Very good value for money. Very impressed will stay again if in the area.

Ideal location in the centre of London with well looked after rooms and very helpful and friendly staff. Pity some of the other guests couldn't have been more considerate towards other guests as they made a lot of noise.

The room and bathroom were clean. The room was quiet so I slept well. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. I was on Business so what more do you want. Negatives: Channel 4 was missing from the TV and the Internet despite paying for it was too slow, about 2 meg per sec download. Price it was £130 room... More

Excellent location 4 minutes from Tube and 15 from mainline Waterloo. Room spacious and clean, very quiet. Did not eat in cafe, but can heartily recommend Bankside cafe in Hatfields Just a 5 min walk (turn right out of hotel and Hatfields is on right after Tube station - excellent good value food lovely staff) Would stay here again as... Stayed here for 3 nights - you know what you are getting with a Travelodge. This one was clean and well kept. Friendly staff and easy check in. Very good location - 10 min walk to Borough Market and Tate Modern. Lots of supermarkets and eating places close by. Our room faced the nearby railway line - however it didn't... More

no internet for two days; am travelling for business and no internet means problems; but they are not going to fix it and leave the entire hotel without internet connection (although already paid). rooms minimal and very small. bathrooms looks like prisons. poor cleaning. good staff, at least! but decisively not enough for the price they ask.

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
