Clean, quiet and comfortable. Friendly receptionists. Quick and easy to check in and no need to check out as all done on arrival. Right next to Southwark tube so perfect for getting around London. Great for pleasure or business.

Stayed here for 4 nights and was extremely pleased. The hotel is very close to the tube station, which made it easy to get around. It was also only a few minute walk to the river and across the bridge to St. Paul's Cathedral. There were several restaurants and pubs within walking distance. The inside of the hotel was simple,... With all the investment Travelodge have been advertising I gave this one a try. Good clean room with a very comfy bed and everything you would expect. Other budgetesqu hotels offer reduced speed WiFi free which is handy for emails etc so the 30 mins travelodge free offer was a little dissapointing. They need to improve the televisions and channel... More

My 5-night-stay at London Southwark hotel was really amazing. The room was clean and spacious so me and the rest of my family felt comfortable. The only thing I'd change was the amount of chairs available (there's only one) and I'd add bedside tables. Other than that, it was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful and I absolutely... We stayed here for one night on a Saturday. The hotel is walking distance from Waterloo (about 10 minutes), and just a few minutes walk from Southwark tube. When we saw It's location (opposite a pub and next to a railway bridge) we assumed we'd be in for a noisy night but despite being in a room right next to... More

My husband, son and I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. We had a family room and it was small but very clean and had everything we needed for a good London exploring base. The hotel is less than 5 minutes from the tube station and across from a lovely pub which sells fabulous burgers too. The staff were... More

It is with regret that I had a bad stay at this hotel. When booking via a booking site I was only able to book a double room. Once I made the booking I called to change my room to a twin. I was put off by single beds in a twin but was travelling with a friend. I asked... More

The location was good and useful for work BUT... * Very noisy as used by hen/stag groups and nightlife parties. * Staff were distracted, at best. * Breakfast so late on a Sunday, I coukdnt eat before checking out for work. * Wifi not free. * Hotel room was grubby: floors, windows, bathroom. Icky!

We booked in March two rooms we arrived to early to check in but they took our names and our bags and we told them we would not be back until late as we were at a gig in Hyde park. They were helpful and told us how to access the hotel later. Unfortunately when we turned up they had... More

Arrived as a group of 4, three adults 1 child, two rooms booked only one room available, after some phone calls the booking was confirmed and the two rooms became available, neat, clean, tidy, very convenient location for all of the Central London attractions, breakfast average, nearby underground car park. Would definitely use again., Ideal for ITV studios. Quick taxi... More

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
