The hotel is reasonably basic, but it is a great base for exploring London. It is close to London Eye, Westminster etc with several tube stations within walking distance. There are some great restaurants on The Cut and Lower Marsh Road, and it felt like a nice area to be in. We had three adults in a room, and it... More

Recently stayed here for 3 nights with my family on a half term break in a family room. Main bed was very comfy, pull outs for the kids were a bit lumpy. Nice and clean, and reasonably quiet considering location near to railway line. We were on the 6th floor, good lift access so not a problem with bags etc.... More

Our one night stay was lovely, and staff were really keen to help. There was the facility to leave out luggage for the day, which was great for touring London! No noise concerns but we were over looking a building site so not the best view!

Stayed for 2 nights at the weekend. We are a couple in our late 30's and were just away for a sneaky weekend without the kids! Plus : The hotel is pretty central, handy walk across the many bridges to the other side of the river to Covent Garden (20 mins), TowerBridge (20 mins), Westminster (20 mins) etc. 10 mins... More

stayed here a couple of times last year. If you book early it's very reasonable for central London. The location is great and also you can come across some treasures that you would miss otherwise ,like borough market and river passage. It's very close to Tate Morden on the south side but it's very clean and safe.. Enjoy it

A brilliant spot to base yourself for a trip to London. We had a family room, good size, comfy, all we needed was provided upon request, great facilities for a city hotel. We will return again no doubt!

This hotel is in a great location for a London sightseeing trip. Everything you would expect for a Travelodge with clean and spacious room. Only gripe is that there is no opening window so the room was fairly stuffy during sleeping hours even with the ac turned down as low as it would go at 17 degrees. Good breakfast but... More

It doesn't look much from the outside but this Travelodge offers competitive rates and is in a great location just 5 mins walk from Waterloo and behind The Globe theatre on the Southbank. Very friendly and helpful staff and nice clean and mostly quiet rooms. Excellent for a city break.

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
