Just stopped here over the bank holiday weekend with the husband and kids aged 6 and 3, the hotel is in a great location which is quiet at the weekend. The beds were super comfy and the breakfast is great and saves having to drag the kids round and find somewhere. My only gripe is that some selfish person had... More

Really friendly and attentive staff. Room well-kept but small (claustrophobic), and minimal e.g. only two plug sockets in the whole room. Windows didn't open, so air wasn't very fresh, but it did keep the sounds out! We slept peacefully in central London for a good price, so over all very happy!

I ought to begin with the customer service as it was excellent. We mainly dealt with a lady called Doris who could not have been more helpful, (she deserves a pay rise, promotion, or both) Our early check in wasn't ready and so she offered us a refund, somewhere to store our luggage, and details of various places within walking... I really liked this hotel. I stayed for two nights in mid August and I got a really nice room with a view of the Shard. I also got a bath in the room (which I had requested). My room was clean, no complaints about that at all. I was on floor 6 and didn't have any trouble with noise,... More

Location was great, easy to get arounf, southwark tube minutes away, local shops around for essentials. We arrived early and booked our cases in, friendly receptionist so a good feeling was had about our two night stay. Came back later and went to our room. It was average. Mostly clean despite the litter under the beds, a tap on the... More

We were there for August bank holiday weekend, my friend and I and we were pleasantly surprised by the low cost of it. The location was great, less than 20 minutes from the river, the globe and the taste modern on foot and just up the road from a tube station. The receptionist, Doris, served us when we were leaving... More

Friendly reception staff, very easy to leave and retrieve our luggage, very close to Tube station, Bar Cafe a little small but we had no problems. The bed was comfortable, and clean as was the bathroom.

Good value for money hotel. Close to the tube and Thames. We stayed Thursday night in a family room. Clean and bright room with king size and two camping beds, perfectly adequate for our children. Clean bedding and towels. Fairly quiet location - we weren't disturbed at all in the night. Breakfast was included in our rate of £83 and... More

stayed here for two nights with my daughter and my parents who are quite elderly. The receptionist took care to put us in next door rooms which was nice. The rooms were comfortable and bed linen was fresh and clean. Bathroom was nice and clean. Shame there wasn't a hairdryer in the room but I think you can probably hire... More

Staying in Southwark

Neighborhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
