This hotel is truly inspiring - it's actually a traditional but upmarket pub, opposite Smithfield market in the trendy charter house square area. The service is great, they made us feel really at home and in addition to really great rooms the food is also top notch. The rooms are quite spacious, very clean and very tastefully decorated. Ours also... More

I recently attended this alleged gastropub for a friend's birthday. One member of staff well and truly let the entire place down. Not only did we receive snarky, impatient replies when we asked for details on one item on the menu, we were also treated with utter contempt throughout the entire duration of our visit. To say her treatment was... More

Large table booked for breakfast - originally tried to squeeze us into one of the back rooms which was ridiculous. Tables moved and had enough room. Biggest advertisement for breakfast is the city boy breakfast - only to be told no liver or kidney - barman seemed to think it was funny it wasn't available No offer of anything else... More

The room we stayed in was nice, but small. They have a massive problem with customer service at this place. It took a large number of phone calls to get through to anybody that actually made sense and make a booking. I am still waiting for them to get back to me about rooms during the Olympics after numerous attempts... More

Just stayed at the Fox & Anchor, in the St Pauls room which was lovely with the most gorgeous bathroom. Pub has some excellent ales on draught and nice wines too. Evening meal was a little disappointing to be honest but the breakfast was good. Will definitely stay there again. More

Stayed with my daughter for one night in the Market Suite. Warm welcome on arrival, lovely, spacious, comfortable room. Fantastic food in bustling restaurant and best breakfast I have had in a long time! Biggest compliment goes to the staff all of whom gave the highest standards of customer service - nothing was too much trouble. Will be back! More

I've eaten here a couple of times now and sadly neither meal has impressed me - only the prices! I couldn't finish my burger because I couldn't cut or chew it, it was so densely packed with gristle that it was not a pleasant experience at all. The beer was good, but the wines were overpriced. I have to say... More

This is my review of the bar food only. I have eaten here a couple of times but I have no experience of the accommodation. I had a really good meal here a year ago and I was recently in the area and so I was keen to visit again. Unfortunately it did not reach the mark second time around.... More

I spent two nights in the Market suite for my wedding. The room is nicely decorated and large. On walking into the room there is the beautiful bathroom with two copper sinks and large copper bath plus large shower. There is a separate toilet room. At the other end of the bathroom there is a living room with corner sofa... More
