My partner and I dined here on 27 September. The food was delicious, very fresh, although the portions could have been larger ! The service was faultless. I can't rate the rooms as we only dined at the pub

We were a party of five, requesting an unscheduled booking for a booth for seven o’clock in the evening, the reservation made at six thirty. We each had different main courses, the food was cooked and presented to a high standard. The prices are reasonable considering the high standard of the food and in the Clerkenwell area, usually an expensive... More

Visited for Sunday lunch in September as had visited few times before for a midweek evening meal and had been v impressed. Food as ever was tasty, but where has it gone?! Ordered fish and chips and got half a fish, about 5 triple cooked chips and a massive jug of tartare sauce (I could have smothered the fish in... More

We travelled from Oxford last evening, having been given a two course meal for two as a wedding present, and found the experience to be very much like the curates egg - good in parts - , on arrival we were looked after very well, and were seated in on of the foxes lairs, nice and personal. The starters were... More

Met some friends here for a lunchtime drink. I have always loved this pub and have been coming here, on and off, for over 20 years. It just keeps getting better and with a great selection of beers it always worth a stop. Add to that it does some of the best breakfast in London, what else can I say.... More

Had to stay overnight in London (normally I commute in) and this is a real gem. I often judge hotels by how good the shower is, this one was like standing in a waterfall ! And that's good ! Friendly and efficient people running the place, will be staying there again.

Hubby and I were out on a London Walks afternoon, saw this pub on the route and thought we'd stop back by. Lovely interior, attentive service, lovely meal (and a few drinks!). We'll be back and try the lamb next time. In the next garden, they were filming "the man who new infinity" and the crew stopped by - -... More

Stayed here a few times during my visit to London. Love the downstairs pub for its settings. Food is good and champagne selection great! The rooms are nicely renovated and you can't ask for more other than Conceirge or a porter service. Was put in the top room once and we had so much baggages with us it was tedious... More

I had been to the Barbican and needed dinner so stopped in here with friends. I had the burger and fries and it was delicious. My friends both had the lamb shank pie. They loved that too. The service was good. If you are passing by and need to find some decent food. This is perfect. I liked the old... More

Went on a travelzoo voucher. £28 2 courses and a glass if prosecco for 2. Was not disappointed the food was awsome. I would defo return. The waitress was really nice and attentive. However, without a voucher is quite pricey for a pub. Starters and deserts around £7 mains vary from £12 -£19 average £15.95. Wine is about £5 for... More
