This is the worse hotel I have ever stayed in. Be warned. Mind you if you like to kept awake all night by the nighclub next door ( no I tell a lie the music stopped at 3:30 then you have the pleasure of listening to some very interesting conversations by the party goers. why you may ask? the windows... more

I have drank in the Sir Thomas Many an occasion having lived in Merseyside all my life. When I moved down South I booked the hootel for me and my sister as a treat. We got there to find the lift was out of order and had to climb 2 fligths of stais (not what I'd expect from a hotle... more

I stayed one night in this hotel. Good points: the room was fairly spacious, small but well stocked bathroom. Location excellent. On the downside, however, it was as others have said, a bit shabby and mucky. The curtains looked to have been a different colour, been redyed and lengthened with a different fabric. There were grubby net curtains. The furniture... more

I wouldn't stay here again if it was the last place in Liverpool and there was a blizzard outside. The room was manky, smelly and old. Windows had practically rotted away and at one point, even there was no wind, I thought they were going to blow through into the room. Blood stains on the wall, and in my friends... more

After reading some of the reviews on this site I was a but worried, but after staying there I have write them off as a bunch of whining tourists who will never be happy anywhere that they stay. I have to say that the Sir Thomas is really a fantastic hotel. Historically impressive and charming, the people there were extremely... more

We arrived to find the elevator was out of order. The alternative was a steep (and rather dark) staircase. The two girls at the desk were astonished when we asked for help with suitcases (my husband is 82) and after a ten minute wait, called a young man who helped with the maximum of bad grace. The room was dark... more

We booked this hotel as a birthday treat. Following a meal out in the town centre we booked into the hotel. The room was tiny and cramped and not at all as described on the website. As we stayed in July it was very hot and we were surprised to discover that there was no air conditioning in the hotel.... more

We recently stayed for 1 night at the Sir Thomas Hotel on Thursday 27th November 2008 and were thoroughly disappointed with the hotel. The photographs provided by the hotel website were misleading, to say the least. The room was incredibly small and the bathroom was small beyond belief. The hotel boasts modern facilities, however, the room was archaic and in... more

No sleep due to drunks in the street ..no double glazing. glass almost falling out of the rotten windows - freezing in the night due to the wind blowing through and the curtains didn't even begin to fit the windows. They were also filthy and covered in stains. The bed was a fold out one ! I last saw something... more

I am sorry, but looking at some ot the 5 star reviews by other travellers leads me to believe they had stayed at a completely different hotel, or they are spoof reviews. Clean? Modern? Refurbished? Come off it! This place may have a good central location, it may well have a busy bar and the food may be acceptable, but... more
