Stayed here on 7th June 2014 for a stag night in Liverpool. Honestly I couldn't complain about anything here. The place looks a bit grubby from the outside but once inside the rooms are big, clean and comfy. Perfect for a big party just wanting some cheap and cheerful digs. The owners were great and just let you get on... More

We are pleased that you found us to be comfortable, yes the outside of the property needs repainting, but since the winter we have not had a chance to do this. It is due to be done this summer, as you can appreciate it is a big house. We are a budget accommodation but this does not reflect on the... More

Everything was absolutely perfect from the moment we entered until the moment we left. Very clean rooms, good location, amazing price and the friendliest staff you could ever meet. They made us feel like part of the family. I will without a doubt stay there again if I'm ever in Liverpool.

From the lovely welcome, with a pot of tea and biscuits brought to my room on a tray, to the willingness to provide a full vegetarian english breakfast at a time to suit me, it was obvious that the owners are keen to please. There was a lot of furniture in my room which made it feel quite cluttered, but... More

This is a good hostel for a budget stay in Liverpool. At the moment, the guesthouse is being done up so there's no common or breakfast room for guests. While my room was fitted everything I needed including a TV, fridge, microwave, I would still have liked not to have to live entirely in my room! Having said that, the... More

Stayed here for two nights whilst in Liverpool for the Grand National. Although the guest house is in the suburbs rather than the centre of town, a taxi to the racecourse was quick and reasonably priced. Rooms were clean and well-equipped and the owners were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast delivered to the room as the dining room was being... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 1 night, but found Ellan Vannin guest house most welcoming. Breakfast was delicious and arrived at the time we stated. Bob was very helpful in giving us thorough directions to our coach station after our stay. Great hospitality over the weekend. We will most certainly come back.

We didn't even stay it was that bad, we paid a deposit in good faith expecting the guest house to be clean and comfortable. When we pulled up most of the houses in the street were empty or boarded up, the guest looked really grubby and curtains were hanging off their curtain poles. There were two scrap cars in the... It is hard to respond to this review in light of the many untruths but we will do our best. Firstly, we regard our guesthouse as being very comfortable, clean and good value for money. It certainly does not smell of grease and fat, in fact we do not even own a deep fat fryer! As to the other houses... More

Ellan Vannin Guest House, Liverpool We stayed one night here in April, and cannot, in all honesty, recommend it to anyone, unless you are really stuck for a place to stay. The house and yard are rather run down, the room (we were in the front room downstairs) was also rather shabby, with worn bedding, very flat pillows, and rather... More

In response to the review, I truly apologise for the decor in the room. The whole property is being refurbished and if you care to return to our property in six month's time I am sure that you will see an improvement. The windows we have had a particular problem with as we have had large bay windows replaced with... More
