We have just returned from a long weekend stay at the Royal Hotel. This is an excellent hotel to stay in for a visit to Liverpool. The hotel is in an ideal location in Waterloo Liverpool with the Crosby beach right in front of you, restaurants and train station within walking distance, taking you directly into the town centre. The... More

I booked the hotel for myself and my mum, we had the lodge as I wanted a ground floor room.....It was lovely and spacious, beds were comfortable, everything spotless and lots of tea, coffee and biscuits. We stayed for 2 nights and ate in the restaurant twice....the meals were fab too and great value for money. All the staff that... More

We booked for a large party of 15 for Sunday Lunch following our parents diamond wedding celebration at a nearby location the evening before. We booked many months in advance and as requested we had given them a pre order for our meals 48 hours before. We arrived 10 mins before our booking time to be told table would be... More

Love this hotel. Excellent position close to Waterloo beach and marina with the most delightful of menu's. The food here though is the gem. It's fresh, expertly cooked, good sized portions and the waiting staff are very friendly, helpful and attentive.

We did not know this hotel existed until we saw offer on a livingsocial deal for a 2 course meal. Having been to Waterloo station and only know of the area to the right of this train station we were very pleasantly pleased on turning left out of station and finding a lovely area that we want to visit and... Greeted with friendly staff and given room number one. Nothing special as we walked in but pleased to see a fan in this silly heat. Clean room and the bathroom was a lovely size. After going out to eat we got back and it was very muggy. Went to plug the fan in by the bed to find neither side... More

This is a nice, traditional hotel just 5 minutes walk from Waterloo station. My double bedroom was cosy and a little old-fashioned in style but with lovely fresh bedding and a clean bathroom. Complimentary biscuits which is always a nice touch for a hungry traveller. The hotel itself is lovely with old carved banisters and vintage-y carpets - and there... More

We have recently had a two course meal at the royal. From the moment we walked into this place we were made to feel very very welcome by the manager and his staff. The place is full of character high ceilings chandliers in the restaurant area. The food was served beautifully it was very well cooked and delicious. The young... More

Inspite of other T/A reviews I found The Royal only average in terms of food and accommodation - the room was OK, bed comfy, the en suite awkward, breakfast disappointing, the staff friendly and the views good. The public areas generally seemed tired and the restaurant chairs certainly in need of refurbishment. The marble lobby was sticky to walk on.... More

This Hotelis right across the road from Crosby Beach and about a 20 minute walk from the Leisure Centre. Booked the hotel through the works website and it was well under budget- Always a little scary, booking a cheap hotel. The hotel is a listed building so does not have a lift. my room was on the first floor with... More
