Almost cancelled the hotel after reading some of the recent reviews and so pleased that I didn't. Our stay was enjoyable and no complaints about the room or the service that we received. Admittedly, the decor in the corridors and the restaurant / bar is outdated, but this hardly impacts on your stay. When we arrived we were allocated a... More

Don't stay at this hotel "with personality" which is code for "your blind date is fat but has a great personality"! It took three days to move us to a different room. Initially we were given a room in the basement with low ceiling and no natural light. It felt like going through a labyrinth of doors, small, narrow, crooked... More

I stayed here over Grand National weekend with a group of 18 ladies-hen party!! We couldn't fault it. The staff were all really friendly and accommodating and couldn't do enough to help us enjoy our stay. The food was fantastic. there was a set menu on the Friday evening and we all had 2 courses. It was really reasonable and... More

Not too bad a city centre place to stay. Rooms average, breakfasts OK. Very handy for the city, shops and nightlife. Also very conveniently situated for Liverpool University. Limited parking and no parking at the front of the hotel becuse of hostile wardens!

I stayed at this hotel for a night on a business trip to Liverpool. Since it's a Best Western I had slightly higher expectations. The hotel is a labyrinthine construction of old houses thrown together. The decor is dated and, in some cases, downright ugly. There is no lift (I think) so if you are staying on the top be... More

We stayed over the Easter bank holiday weekend and as a group of over 20 hens it was perfect. Great value for money, central location and very accommodating to our large group. Emma, one of the waitresses, was particularly exceptional. She really did bend over backwards to make sure we had everything we needed and was very good at her... More

The hotel is old, and it shows. The hallways are narrow. The rooms are OK, and they serve a very nice breakfast. The restaurant/ bar is fine. The staff is very friendly, and the location is practical. All in all, a fine stay.

This is a fairly average hotel: room decor is a little tired, and dated, but the beds are comfortable, and the staff are absolutely excellent. Noise can be a problem, and access for disabled visitors can be an issue, but if you are looking for somewhere to sleep, in a convenient location, this is a reasonable option.
