To be honest the décor was shabby and there wasn't any hot water at the sink. BUT... its central, its cheap, its good value and breakfast was adequate and varied, I could hear the TV upstairs but as soon as it was switched off it was quiet and I slept well. The floors creak so you can hear people getting... More

Found The Lord Nelson very central, which is ideal for pretty much all we needed.. Was clean, tidy, friendly staff, rooms ideal and comfortable, value for money, breakfast was great too. Will certainly return and most certainly recomend to anyone..

If you are looking for a budget hotel then this is the one for you. The facilities are excellent - the rooms are clean and come with tea making facilities. The rooms are adequately sized, and ours came with an on suite shower and washbasin and was perfect for our short stay. The breakfast is continental style which may not... More

Stayed here 5 Dec for Imelda May gig at the Phil but wouldn't recommend the place. Looked very drab from outside and apart from the breakfast dining area everywhere was the same. Our room was shabby and dirty and the bathroom heater was broken making it like a freezer!!! I reported it to reception and to their credit they did... More

This is my third time staying at the Lord Nelson, there has been no problem in each of my stays, although on the last stay with my partner, there was a rude member of staff. but the rest of the staff were friendly and nice. its basic accomodation and in the middle of everything. It is a good hotel over... More

We stayed at The Lord Nelson Hotel for two nights midweek when on a mini break to Liverpool. The room was small but clean, with shower, tea and coffee making facilities and a huge flat screen tv. Breakfast was was continental , with plentiful tea and coffee, bread, cold meat, cereals, fruit and yoghurt. The hotel was central, being next... More

Its clean, the beds are comfortable, it has a well stocked bar at reasonable (city centre) prices and all of the staff where very friendly and helpful. Very convenient for the train station (lime street) and the o2 academy next door. The hotel reflects the price. Simple as that. If you want a higher standard then go pay the price.... More

This hotel is currently being refurbished but this didnt affect the quality of our stay. Our twin room had two very comfortable double beds, a massive tv, plenty of tea and coffee and even the bathroom was supplied with toiletries and huge towels. The inclusive continental breakfast had plenty of choice and everything was replenished before it ran out, staff... More

Stayed here on a overnight visit. Was handy for train station and Queen Square Bus Station which was what I needed. The hotel was ok just a little tired. I think for one night it was fine but wouldn't want to stop here any longer. Our room was small but clean. No problems with the bathroom. Was quite cold in... More
