Really friendly staff, especially George the maintenance man, who dropped us out to Aintree and Katy who gave us a good laugh;-). The hotel is grand for what is is, rooms are big, have clean linen, towels and a big telly etc. There is a also bar downstairs. If you are looking for somewhere to stay close to the city... More

Fantastic location - 1 min walk from the train station and bars of city centre - we had 4 rooms in total for fri/sat night - 2 near the lifts n 2 near the stairs - the ones near the lifts were better as the lifts stopped between 9:30pm n 8am - I was in one near the stairs, would... More

Having read previous reviews, very nearly decided to forego my paid fees and go elsewhere. So glad I didn't!! Stayed on a Tuesday night. Hotel was very quiet. Check in was very efficient and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was spotless (and from someone who works in a similar industry, this is a true compliment) .... More

Stayed here last weekend when over for the Liverpool v Man Utd game. Firstly, the staff were very pleasant, especially the girls at breakfast. The rooms were big, the linen fresh, so no problems there. The carpets however were awful. Years of ground in dirt & hair. The shower in our room didn't work, was cold only, however we were... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. Just regarding about the carpets, they were replaced 2 years ago and are currently due to be washed again. We do take your comments serious and we will look at the area you stayed in. We are currently refurbishing all rooms, at the moment we have done 24... More

This hotel has a great location in the city centre, right by Lime Street Station, the Empire Theatre, the Walker Gallery and World Museum. It's about 20 minutes walk to the riverside and Albert Dock. There are lots of restaurants nearby. My room was quite well decorated and I think recently refurbished. The bathroom was huge for a single in... More

We spent last night at the Lord Nelson....never again, should have spent part of the £97 paid on a taxi home! Really friendly staff, but dreadful hotel, couldn't wait for morning to come quick enough so we could check out. Tiny, shabby room, shabby bar/dining room, needs a good refurb right through. Two stag groups staying the same night....may be... More

I think Lord Nelson is the best hotel for me and my girl friend when i check in because of near station, but i was wrong. My room has small bed room and big bathroom. specially, no heating in bathroom and only person can take a shower with hot water.

Stayed here last year with my girlfriend as we were going to a show at the theatre round the corner and it was easier than a train back home at that time. Wish we'd gotten the train instead. From the minute we got back to the hotel at 11pm, we were kept awake by chanting, singing and drumming on the... More

In a Great location, the staff were more than welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our room and on suite were clean and the bed was really comfortable, no complaints whatsoever and we would happily stay there again should we visit Liverpool
