We were delighted with the Adelphi. Although the decor was not completely up-to-the-minute, the room was spacious and comfortable and clean and has obviously been repainted quite recently. There are extensive public areas for wifi etc and the staff were extremely friendly, especially when we accidentally spilled a big jug of milk on our table. Can't fault it for what... more

This is a beautiful old hotel in a great location but the rooms are in very poor repair; paint peeling, carpet torn/stained, mold in the bathrooms. I had to stay here for a conference but would not do so again. more

Booked into Adelphi as we managed to get a special deal, on hindsight can see why, location great but hotel a dump. Room was clean but terribly dated, most hideous fake marble bathroom I have ever seen. The handle to switch between shower/bath was faulty so resulted in a soaking every time you tried to run a bath. Booked a double room but really got single room with double bed. One bedside table and light , to read you had to leave main light on then get out of bed to turn it off. Bed was missing part of frame at the bottom. TV had basic 5 channels with extremely poor reception. No View, window let light in... more
