The Hotel is 100 years old and it shows. Our room was ok but the furniture is really old and worn with a rickety bed and a horrible looking patch on the ceiling although the radiators were off, it was incredibly warm due to the hot water pipes. Check in was efficient and the staff really welcoming in fact the... More

I just came back from a wonderful stay at the Adelphi. It felt like I was appearing in an Edwardian drama. Yes slightly faded but lovely room, elegant bathroom and joy of joys I was able to open the window!!! Everyone was very helpful and friendly and the location was perfect.

Back from a Fri/Sat night stay at this obviously once impressive Hotel. found the whole experience to be a nightmare best forgotten! Given a double room on the top (6th) floor which can only be described as shabby, dirty, ugly. Right next to the Lift shaft, constantly in use as only one out of the two lifts were working properly.... More

Not sure what to put in this review. Firstly lets acknowledge that this is an old building that has fabulous architecture. The ball room at the back of the hotel is a beautiful room, the flowers in the foyer and the lounge area look great. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. Now...the bathrooms need a complete update, showers fixed or relaced... More

It's a beauty. But does she ever needs a rehaul! One that reaffirms the classic beauty and does get rid of the ugly adjustments in last years. I will gladly pay more for monumental renovation, improving the quality of the building and the interiors of the rooms. An experience now, too much in the negative, whilst it should be an... More

I went on a tribute band overnighter and was I glad not any longer stay. There are steps everywhere and the only ramps I saw were in the lounge area for the few steps at the side. Also had a chair lift at the side of the breakfast room but looked so tatty do not think many people chanced using... More

Check in took 30 mintues, with only one person in front of us, probably because maybe understaffed. one staff on and she seemed very slow. Was no apology about waiting 30 mintues to be checked in at half 9 at night. A long wait for a lift as only one was working, half the buttons didn't work on the lift... More
