The room was in a poor state with iron heat stains on the carpet, a hole in the bottom of the bathroom door. The front of cupboards and drawers fell off. Window sash broken and a door chain sccrewed to it to stop it opening too far, a hinge screwed on to go under the window when open to stop... More

Poor quality rooms which are dirty, shower unit only gave cold water and you wouldn't want to bath you dog in it, it was that bad. Three rooms seen in total seen with friends staying all as bad as one another! Light fittings dangerous with broken bulbs still in them and door locks held with only a few screws. Didn't... More

My daughter and I booked the hotel after viewing it on the website, photos looked good. What a big mistake not reading the reviews on trip advisor ! The young lady who showed to the room was very nice and friendly. The room was disgusting. Dirty stained carpets, it was obvious the bed sheets had not been changed, they had stains... More

We complained and got moved. the 2nd room was even worse.... Door did not shut even when locked. Big gaps in Floor with loo paper down it, Pooh and filth in toilet,... More

I booked a stay in the hotel for September 2 months ago. Usually I take my time in choosing a hotel and looking at the reviews but on this occasion, I went by the pictures both on the hotel's website and Booking.com (which is the company I booked through) which actually looked reasonable for the price and location of the... After booking the duke william for a 1 night stay we weren't expecting great things after reading reviews and we weren't disappointed. On arrival we were shown up to our room which could only be described as a grimy mish mash of a place. It was full of old mis matched furniture with dirt and grime everywhere. The beds had... More

We arrived early and sat outside in the car as the 'front door' was locked. Much later, we discovered that the Reception entrance was about 5 mins walk away round the back. There was no notice at the front to this effect. During the whole of our stay, we only met one member of staff, who admittedly was very pleasant... More

Luke and partner where pleasant but I feel this establishment needs someone to lift it out of its tiredness . Management could wield a paintbrush , remove old light fitments , and generally give it some love. It's a beautifully old building and you except creaky , wandering passageways. Make the most of what you have. Time and effort and... More
