The service was at best appalling, when entering from the front of the building there was no one at the bar and no direction to the reception area, some locals drinking at the far end of the pub started shouting to inform the staff we were waiting. We followed the staff member through the tiny dining room to what could... more

Situated in the Cathedral Quarter, this Inn is close to main medieval attractions. Staff were pleasant and our room was acceptable, en-suite was small. BUT after visiting Cathedral we returned to a very cold room which despite the efforts of staff got no warmer. After our 4th or 5th request we were moved to a nicer warmer room. Dinner in... more

I arrived to a cluttered reception and spoke with a really nice girl there. She showed me to my room only to find that the room hadn't been made up, she returned to reception to get another key for a room that was made up....to her embarrassment and my amazement...that wasn't made up either. !!..I waited in the bar for... more

After reading previous reviews we were a bit apprehensive at staying here, but we were pleasantly suprised. The rooms were spotless, the staff were very helpful and the breakfast was very good. The hotel is in a great location for seeing Lincoln. Yes the floorboards do creek, but it is a very old building. Yes you can hear the pub... more

Dirty room, grubby linen, mouldy bathroom. My wife and I checked in as guests of a wedding reception at the hotel and spent about 15 minutes in the room listening to the noise of other guests depositing their waste products down their toilets and seemingly passing through our bathroom's pipework. The bathroom was too small for a amazonian pigmy and... more

I agree with some of the other reviews to a point but you have to look at the overall picture. Yes it could do with a bit of a re-furb but I found the most important things OK. The bed was comfortable with clean bed linen. Towels were plentyfull and clean. Plenty of handwash and shower gel. Breakfast was good... more

Not much of a Hotel, overall very grubby and shoddy. Our room was tiny to say the least and stains all over the pillow cases, the bathroom was so tiny with mouldy tiles surrounding the shower cubicle toilet handle came away and wouldn't flush properly. Duke box from the pub was loud and didn't go off till at least 12... more

The worst place I have ever stayed, in terms of quality, cleanliness and value. The hallway upstairs smelt, the room was unpleasantly hot, despite opening as many windows as possible, and the toilet would only work after four flushes, and then not sufficiently. This however, is nothing compared to the squalor of the dining room, which was frankly, filthy throughout... more

...then what do you expect from what is essentially a pub based hotel. Many a time I have been put on a complete downer having read reviews after I'd booked a hotel, only to discover a completely different experience and this one beat the lot! I was on the verge of canceling just the night before when one our party... more

The hotel was booked for us by a friend. We only looked at the reviews the night before we travelled and got the shock of our lifes reading them. we thought of cancelling but it would have cost so much being so late on. Any way i'm glad we didn't. I can't see why there were so many negative reviews.... more
