The Castle is a little gem in a great location. I was attending a gig at Lincoln Castle and made a late decision to stay over, It was a very good decision. My room was ready although I arrived early and I was given Kenilworth, a double for my sole occupancy at no extra charge. Immaculately clean and well-maintained. Staff... more

This Hotel is rated 2 star! Having recently sampled a 3 star!!!! Well the castle punches above its weight. Ideally situated, rooms are bright & clean, breakfast is good plenty of selection. Only downside for me are shower curtains I hate them I'd rather have screens. Livingstondaisy more

Well this must have been our 5th or 6th stay at the Castle hotel. We had the Richmond room this time as it is quite big with 2 windows and on a corner. There is also a window in the bathroom to open - you needed the windows open that night as it was very hot. the only thing I... more

Stayed here for 2 nights over a weekend to attend a family birthday party nearby. The hotel is charming in a country English style. Our room was comfortable and full of character. The location is excellent being at the top of Steep Hill in Lincoln, right by the Castle and near to the Cathedral. What impressed me so much about... more

My partner and I got a Heritage Break 3 night stay and this hotel, and the first thing we noticed was that its situation was central to all the main places of interests and shops, without being noisy. Our room, on initial view, was not celubrious, but it was beautifully clean and tidy and quiet, with a lovely bathorrom, with... more

I stayed three nights in a single room, which although it had all the amenities, was dated and drab in decor, especially the bathroom which was poorly lit. The shower head broke on first use (though was fixed by the time I returned to my room later in the day.) I could hear every noise (and I mean every noise)... more

In August, I made a booking for one night during the 2008 Lincoln Christmas Fair and was lucky to get it. Although some of the earlier reviewers were critical, I think their expectations were too high. This is your classic motor inn, plain, basic, serves a purpose of the guest getting a great hot shower and relatively comfortable bed. No... more

Great location for exploring historic Lincoln. Less than 5 minutes walk from the Castle and the Cathedral. Very near to a number of interesting restaurants in the historic centre. Nice old fashioned hotel. Staff friendly, room clean and good breakfast. Decor a little dated. Good car parking facilities. My room was on the third floor. I was glad I didnt... more

Stayed Monday evening on business. Bedroom and bathroom clean and comfortable. All 3 of our party commented that at 6am you can hear the staff get up and get ready for work. Pleasant walk into the city centre, but they don't call it Steep Hill for nothing! Ate at Browns Pie Shop in the evening which was good. Breakfast at... more

Location is great, staff friendly, homely breakfast and luckily got a parking spot next to front door. However bed was aweful and room was opposite kitchen door. Over priced. more
