We had a very enjoyable stay at The Castle Hotel in November. Our stay was for three nights to do Christmas shopping and visit Cathedral. The hotel in good position to visit all attractions of City. Nice location and lovely view of the cathedral, but the room was smelly (possibly an ex -smoking room) and it was all a bit drab. Only five channels of TV. Everything worked and it was just about OK for a one night stay. Breakfast was quite nice - good bread and excellent sausage of course. more

We stayed for one night and found the hotel excellent, good beer and a first class breakfast. It is situated in the best part of the city amongst the castle and cathedral grounds with some excellent pubs nearby. The only criticism is that they give directions from everywhere on their website, well, everywhere by car that is! Not by foot... more

Just returned from overnight at this hotel. Had a very nice stay, great location in the cathedral quarter -so near to everything, nice welcome ,great breakfast, very clean. However the bed was really uncomfortable and shook and squeaked all night and every time my husband turned over I 'rolled down the hill'!
