When we returned from our two night stay on 29th & 30th May at the Bailhouse, how relieved we were that we had not read the reviews on TripAdvisor beforehand, as they would certainly have deterred us from booking. We chose the Bailhouse as we wanted to stay somewhere with character in a good location in a city where there... more

I have to say that the welcome, service, helpfulness was superb and a refreshing change to the usual bland hotel. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The buildling is very interesting historically and the cottages were very well equipped and comfortable. The perfect option for a weekend shopping, eating and enjoying the old part of Lincoln which is a real... more

Unique and quirky. Old meets new. Staff were excellent (thanks Toby and Chris) and made us feel really welcome. They were a credit to the hotel. If you are fed up with faceless chain hotels, this is definitely some where to try. Loved the honesty bar. Stayed in the Feature room. Lovely! Great location. Easy walking distance everywhere. We had... more

There were four of us and we actually stayed at one of the cottages owned by the hotel. It was only overnight but I'm glad it wasn't any longer. One thing was perfect, the location of the cottage. It was on the edge of the old town and only about five minutes from the cathedral etc. Great. However, the whole... more

Booked this overnight stay in what we thought was a five star hotel. Room was quite large and comfortable, though the bed was supported by a piece of wood and there were no net curtains for modesty. There were no spare toilet rolls in the shower room. The location was excellent and the staff were friendly. I would say the... more

We found this guesthouse on Tripadvisor whilst trying to organise a hotel for family to meet up for a celebration weekend. We had so many problems with the staff at the Charlotte House just returning our calls and emails that we initially gave up and looked elsewhere. However unable to find somewhere we returned and managed somehow to arrange it.... more

Booked last minute because lucky me won tickets for British Superbikes at nearby Cadwell Park. Booked via Laterooms website. However, before booking I spoke directly with the hotel as I was concerned about sharing facilities as this was mentioned on the Laterooms website. I was told by the hotel that it was a 2 bedroom cottage and if I made... more

Read the comments below & was unsure what to expect on my second visit (stayed in 2007 for a couple of days & had a nice stay). Was given a different room to previous but found it clean & tidy. I agree it is not your usual hotel, but I think this adds to its character. Would recommend this hotel... more
