Having spent all day Saturday and the night at a scooter rally in Cleethorpes I decided as I had the Monday off to stay somewhere on the Sunday night. My partner had come up from the Isle of Wight so I booked Lincoln as It is lovely up the top of the hill. My original accommodation sadly had let me... More

Had a good weekend hotel welcomed us Breakfast was good. We stayed in the old bishops palace, which is detached from main hotel. Not a massive room but clean and comfortable. Would certainly go again. Only down side is lack of parking but hotel is situated right next to cathedral.

On researching accommodation for a recent visit to Lincoln (our first) I noticed that The Old Palace Hotel received consistently good reviews on TripAdvisor, so I booked a room here. Are we ever glad I did! This hotel is the former Bishop's Palace for Lincoln Cathedral and is 30 metres away from this amazing building. We had a lovely room... More

This hotel is situated in one of the country's top locations if you like looking at cathedrals. Just down from Lincoln's Cathedral, this hotel gives you the opportunity to study its spires from the comfort of your own bedroom window. Our room was very clean, quiet and comfortable, if an interesting shape. The hotel decor inside in the communal was... More

this is a unique place in the shadow of the beautiful cathedral and a few steps form the Bailgate area of the city. The welcome was personal and the quality of the bedrooms was exceptional. The restaurant serves good food from a limited but varied selection and the dining room is in keeping with the rest of this listed building... More

Had the gin and tonic afternoon tea, wonderful choice of gin and teas and definitely the best hotel view in Lincoln but let down by poor housekeeping in the room where we sat, carpet needed a vacuum, furniture marked. 8 small sandwiches , with not very exciting fillings, crusts still on some. Cakes were lovely as were scones but left... More

I recently booked a variety of hotels for some friends visiting the UK from New York. My friends parents couldn't believe it when I took them to this hotel. We arrived around 10pm and it was stunning to see it all lit up and of course the cathedral was lit too, simply breathtaking. The rooms were a reasonable size, cleanliness... More

This is a hotel to avoid if you are used to modern, corporate clone hotels. Built on foundations which date back a thousand years, this is one special hotel. The grounds are stunning, a combination of ruins and well kept gardens, with commanding views of Lincoln. Our room was actually in an old church, a later addition to the hotel... More

We were really excited about this particular stay as the hotel looked superb, especially with its historic links. I had requested a room with a bath due to a health problem, and that request was met in room 15, however after unpacking went into the bathroom where the floor was covered with water due to a leak. Also two of... More

Difficult to say the right things. Agree with comments re shabby communal areas. It is owned by the C of E and I guess they are strapped for cash; and it shows. If it is to be run as a business then the Church should want to make a good profit like anyone else and therefore needs to invest to... More
