Welcome To Tennyson A Self-Serviced Accommodation The Tennyson is located in Lincoln, a magnificent city in the East Midlands of England with much to offer all visitors to see and do in picturesque and historical surroundings. The Romans established a port. The Normans built a castle. The Victorians built a prison and the medieval bishops built a magnificent Cathedral. Come and visit Castle Square, which is lined with beautiful medieval houses and the famous Lincoln Castle. The Victorian prison sits behind the castle walls, which is a great place to go visit. Finish your visit with a walk along the castle walls to see spectacular views across Lincolnshire. In the evening, what could be more pleasant than a stroll along the High Street seeking out a suitable restaurant under the magnificent spectacle of the floodlit cathedral. Lincoln is blessed with a great variety of restaurants and to help you in your choice we provide a restaurant guide in your room.
Arrived at the room at 7pm to be greeted with dirty unmade bed linen, used towels and mugs for drinks. After calling management helpline for asked to cope for one night and cleaners will attend at 8am in the morning. After saying no good to me and 8pm by this time, asked me to locate alternative accommodation for night even thou id booked two nights. Disgusting service and very rude on phone. I have travelled very much in my life and never received this kind of poor service at a hotel / B&B.

This was the first time we had used a self service hotel, we were impressed with the facilities, it had a communal kitchen and lounge the bedroom was comfortable and clean, we had a fridge which had the continental breakfast in and on (which you were asked to eat in the kitchen). If and when we go to Lincoln again this hotel will be looked at first.

Good Points - Rooms are clean. Plenty of tea and coffee and nice to have proper milk instead of UHT. Bad Points - cleaners came but did not replenish toilet roll (husband had to go and buy some) or breakfast bits. The breakfast isn't great, you get a couple of slices of bread, small tin of beans, butter, yoghurt. Nothing was replenished for our second day.

Disliked · #1. The smell of cat urine that was immediately noticed as we opened the door and stepped into the lobby of our room. This did not go away and was confirmed by friends of ours who were also staying at Tennyson. #2. The toilet seat hinge was broken (see attached picture) I managed to fix the seat so my wife could at least use the toilet but the lid could not be re affixed. #3 The flickering make-up mirror light rendering that mirror useless unless we wanted to open the blind and remove any privacy from the bathroom. #4 The well astablished spider colonies (and the damp on the wall - see attached photos) While they didn't bother us, it shows that cleaning had not been thorough in the bedroom or bathroom. We had to wait until 4pm to gain access due to the 'Cleaning schedule' #5 The 'cream' hand cleanser had been watered down so much as to be useless. #6 The cutlery had not been thoroughly cleaned. The last occupants food residue was evident. #7 The internal TV aerial was broken. #8 There was a marked parking bay which another Tennant had parked in. Not all parking bays were marked with a room number. #9 Contacting the hosts by the Whatsap number returned a curt and useless response. Liked · The room was spacious and well equipped although some of the fittings were broken or did not work.…

Writing on behalf of my mum who stayed here for four nights this week. She was visiting me and I live just across the roundabout. She loved it, perfect for what she wanted. Comfortable bed and really smart little bathroom. Check in was easy, an email sent the day before with room number and combination to access room key. Room was at the front on the ground floor but didn’t find the noise an issue like other reviews have said. Nice touch with a fridge in the room with breakfast bits restocked each day if needed. They also changed the bedding half way through the stay which was unexpected but lovely. It’s an easy walk into the city centre or there’s a bus stop just around the corner. There being no staff on site wasn’t a problem, everything was straight forward enough.

Lovely self service guest house, lovely and clean and tidy, room was a good size, it came with a do it yourself breakfast, which consists of cereal, bread, butter, jams, yoghurt, orange and milk, it's in an ideal location, plenty of pubs and eateries just round the corner. The only negative was the shower didn't work very well, apart from that, we would definitely stay again.

We booked into the tennison for a two night break in bridlington . Wow. What a buitifull place this was a very good choice. Julie and Gary were very welcoming on arrival. Our breakfast was realy nice and enjoyable. I have always said the front of a building tells you alot of the inside .iwas right again. The front garden is realy nice to sit outside with a cup of tea on a morning. Thank you for our stay we will see you both again . Billy and jan

Very comfortable bed and a spacious room. Location is convenient for the city but the on site parking is very limited. Some rooms have dedicated spaces, others do not. The 'continental breakfast' was disappointing - beans on toast and a small piece of prepacked cheese with juice and yoghourt. I expected more. Overall, however, I would recommend this hotel for comfort and value.

a clean, tidy room with complementary tea bags and fruit juice, which was a lovely touch. we had everything we needed! However, for the price point I think the decor was pretty outdated. As well as this, a lot of emphasis is placed on being quiet in the room, I suppose because the noise insulation in the building is so poor. A perfectly nice place to stay if you need a layover, but if you’re the owners, I’d recommend investing a bit of money into this place and giving the rooms some privacy.

Traffic noise unbearable in ground floor bedroom at night making sleep v difficult, ear plugs provided by the hotel made no difference! Only 3 spoons for 10+ guests to use for cereals at breakfast & no more provided as promised by the agent when contacted However the rooms were clean
