This was our first time here, but it will not be the last. We initially used it as a 'break' point in a longer journey, and it was a terrific find. You do have to bear in mind that this is a retreat that will do B&B, thus the rooms do not have TV's, though do have access to Wi-Fi,... More

Had lunch and afternoon tea in this gorgeous old Abbey, with a group of friends. The staff were welcoming and extremely accommodating, the food was delicious and the setting is breath-taking. We were able to wander around both the Abbey and the grounds and the we all felt an amazing sense of peace and calm. Well worth a visit.

Thank you so much for your positive feedback. Launde Abbey is beautiful all year around but especially in the spring as all the flowers are emerging. The lovely recent sunny weather is also very welcome. More

Returned yesterday from a weekend retreat. The place is set in a valley surrounded by trees. There are several footpaths around the estate. Very peaceful. Food excellent, catered for all different diets. Chef cooked me scrambled eggs when I asked him. Nothing was too much for the staff. The room was small but only there for one night. Room was... A truly superb Abbey retreat in beautiful grounds with excellent food and first class staff. Offering both accommodation and dining with specialist events. Hoping to get on the Snowdrop Walk with afternoon tea in the next couple of weeks! Rooms only got 4 as no TV but it is a retreat so probably quite right!

I have stayed at Launde Abbey three times now and am booked in for another rest in June 2015 with a group of friends and once by myself. I find the meals are good . They do their best to cater for special diets but it is best to inform them when you book or soon after. The same if... More

Calling in on the off chance on the way back home from Oakham, we enjoyed tea, wonderful cakes and a chance to unwind as we wandered around the serene grounds enjoying the seclusion and also the peace of the chapel which gave an opportunity for spiritual reflection. Launde Abbey is not your average hotel, it's something better - a retreat house. Set within a beautiful bowl of green valley, grazed by sheep, it offers peace and tranquility. Tastefully restored and updated, it offers a bite to eat or a drink to passers by in the courtyard restaurant, as well as somewhere to stay for those who want... More
