We stayed for a nearby wedding, and found this to be fair value, with reasonable rooms. Unfortunetly there was a Xmas party on within the hotel so we were awoken at 2am-4pm with an ongoing after party on two nearby rooms. Otherwise it would have neen a great night! more

Just to make things clear. I have stayed in this hotel over the course of nearly 5 weeks, for an average of 3 days per week. So my complaints are not based on a single trip, nor even a single week. I found the staff pleasant but completely unable to get their heating (cold radiators, noisy pipes) or water (cold... more

Had we known how good the Fieldhead would be, we would have spent two nights here rather than one. Our room (15) was comfortable and well-furnished, our dinner in the restaurant was excellent, and the breakfast, though freshly-cooked, arrived very quickly. One minor criticism - I'd have expected a better pint of IPA in a hotel owned by Greene King... more

I had a meal in the restaurant, I had Gamon steak with 2 fried eggs and peas. The meal itself was ok and my boyfriend had the same. It wasn't untill about 12.30am the next morning when I started being violently sick that things seemed a miss. I was being sick for 12 hours solid and I had bad diahorea... more

Normally stay at more corporate large 4/5* chain hotels, so when I initially saw The Fieldhead on my itinerary, I was quite dubious having had numerous dodgy experiences in 'local' hotels in the more remote parts of the UK (think League of Gentlemen!). However, I really rather liked the Fieldhead. Free parking right next to hotel, very friendly staff (who... more

Firstly can I take this opportunity to thank you for choosing the Fieldhead and secondly for taking the time in giving us some valuable feedback. Your comments will be gratefully passed onto the team during the next staff meeting. It is nice to know that not only did our standards but also our staff exceeded your expectations and we look...

This review relates to a meal taken in the restaurant. The organization of the restaurant is shambolic. The waiting staff are unaware of the basics. Asking what the soup of the day was stumped them. Meals arrived with the classic "Now who ordered the xxxx?" Wrong food and drinks are served. The food is mediocre and cold. Meals were missing... more

I have stayed here a few times for business and it has always been a pleasure after a long day to come here and relax with my book, a couple of beers and a meal The food is reasonable, not fantastic but better than you would get if you stayed in some Premier Inns. Breakfast is good. Saying this I... more

We Booked this hotel for 2 reasons, firstly it was pet friendly and secondly for its location , which made it easy for the rest of our family to meet up with us the following day for Sunday lunch. On arrival we found the receptionist not there and neither was she there when we tried to contact her on another... more
