I have stayed in a number of Travelodge hotels during the past 12-months, some had been refurbished, others not; the Leicester Markfield Travelodge falls into the latter category, presumably its turn will come. At first sight on arrival in the car park it looks very woebegone and the disused building next door does not improve that first impression, but when... More

Upon pulling into the litter strewn car park you immediately notice the neglected feel to the property; that the building next door is derelict adds to this. The room itself was not overly dirty it's just badly in need of a spruce up. The shower worked fine but the water pressure in the sink is very low. Travelodge are in... More

We are sorry to learn you did not enjoy your stay BajanBandit. We do expect our bathrooms to have adequate water pressure so it is regrettable that this was not the case. We do want all of our hotels to be up to the same high standards and we are working hard to achieve this. We will be sure to... More

After staying at travelodge markfield I saw different sides to it, the grounds surrounding the hotel where overgrown ... untidy.... and poorley kept! However when you step inside a transformation took place. The staff where so frienldly and helpful, the room was very clean, no sign of someone being there before even tho its a hotel. Clean towels, fresh sheets... More

We used this Travelodge as a convenient stop-over on a long journey. First impressions as we drove into the Services Area were not good, outside areas were neglected, Service Area Cafe had closed down and the car park did not give us any confidence in it's security. Welcome and checking in were fine but the room itself smelt a little... More

Been here twice in two weeks and will be hopefully going again later in June. Rooms need a face lift but Staff were excellent - Nothing was too much trouble! I'm a disabled user and the facilities are jaded but usable! Free Wifi for the 30 minutes per day is a great new addition too!

are a grim foretaste of what's to come. We didn't stop scratching for a week and couldn't get away fast enough. Squalid would be a slight exaggeration, but only slight. Smelly, dirty, worn out and tired. We, like other people arriving at the same time, struggled to even find the place, such an air of abandonment does the entrance have... More

Stayed here overnight. Convenient location for the M1, could only hear traffic when we opened the window! We were in a front facing room, but I imagine the rooms opposite us didn't have that problem. Room was cold when we arrived, but once we turned the heater in the room it soon warmed up quickly. The room was clean and... More

Very conveniently located for our 3 days at Loughborough Uni. We stayed for 2 nights. Carpets not very clean. Hairs found. Only 1 guest towel and 1 small bar of soap. this was rectified by the receptionist when we informed her of this Not very clean walls marks from the electric radiator could have done with a regular paint job....
