We have stayed in many hotels with 4-star rating (mostly abroad, admittedly) which didnt really live up to it. The Grand renewed our faith in the system. From the moment we arrived until we checked out our visit was a pleasure. Our room wasn't quite ready when we arrived so we were treated to a coffee in the bar. The... More

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to post such a kind review. I was delighted we played a part in making your husband's birthday visit really special. In relation to the fitness room, there is no treadmill for one reason and one reason only. We tested the noise from underneath and it was found to be too intrusive... More

Had to stay here as I was attending a business conference in this hotel. For the money... It was bang on. Best bits: breakfast, food good and staff fab! Weakest bit?: bit dated. Hotel was clean, easy parking and faultless really. Would use again without hesitation.

Locations is good, reception and bar area very nice. The receptionists were miserable as sin, our room facing the high street was boiling hot, clubbers at 1am were a nightmare outside. Our rooms definitely needed an upgrade, bed too close to wall, windows that open 3" to let more noise in. No A/C in room, reception provided a fan but... More

Thank you for your review. It is always disappointed to respond to a review that is not a postive one. As you can see from most Tripadvisor reviews our receptionteam are fantastic. helpful and polite. Had they known that you did not like the room allocated they would have gladly moved you to another of your liking. Our hotel is... More

Great food, value for money for a city centre location. Visiting family in Leicester and we stopped for lunch. Very accommodating as my mum even had something that wasn't on the menu. Great choice of food and decor to relax.

Stayed here about two weeks ago on business and for the price paid was good value. I was put in a room on the top floor and although I had no bath tub, the room was fine with powerful shower. Yes I appreciate that certain parts of the hotel might start to look a little dated, but this does not... More

Situated in a central location which was perfect and at an exceptionally good rate for a double room for one night. Really nice room with queen sized bed which was very comfortable, large bathroom and everything else you need, apart from air con which we really needed as the weather was extremely humid. Had some drinks from hotel bar which... More

Thank you for taking the time to post a nice review. We are perfectly located right in the heart of the city. I was delighted you found our room really nice with a big comfortable bed. On the positive the room had a lovely large comfortable bed & ample pillows. The bathroom too was a good size, although others in the party I was with had a bath that was the size of a large hand basin. There was no power socket near to either side of the bed so plugging in a phone to use... More

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. I was delighted you found us good and breakfast to be of good quality especially our new sausage we have recently introduced. I was disappointed to read the coffee was cold especially when it comes straight from the machine to the table. We are a grade 11 listed Victorian building... More

We stayed 12th and 13th June as we were taking a steam train trip from Leicester to Carlisle. We booked a Premier room but on arrival felt the room a little dated with no view and whilst it was quite large it was definitely in need of a make-over. During the night the noise was intolerable caused by a stair... More

Thank you for taking the time to post a fair review. We have recently just completed an extensive refurbishment of the hotel and in particular our ground floor where we have added a Marco Pierre White, New York Italian restaurant and a stunning new bar plus a small fitness room. All our rooms are of a different shape, size, design... More

Leicester has changed radically over the past few years for the better and this hotel is a good choice. I had a couple of drinks in the large lobby area of this friendly, good location hotel which is just a few minutes walk from the rail station. You are also literally a couple of minutes walk away from the plesant... More

Thank you for taking the time to post a nice review. I was delighted you found the hotel to be up to date, have a "cosy" feel and the staff to be friendly and not "plastic". The team do genuinely try and provide great friendly service all of the time. Our location is fantastic, as you say minutes from everywhere... More
