Lovely, characterful hotel. The room was small but perfectly formed, clean, very comfortable and warm. All the staff were friendly, polite and happy to help. There was some late night noise from outside (which can't be helped) but it was quieter than other Leicester hotels I have stayed in. The only negative was breakfast. We had to make several trips... Stayed overnight on our way to East Midlands Airport catching an early morning flight. Started with a visit to reception to check in. It was that noisy we couldn't hear a word the receptionist said. Dropped bags in our room which was clean and fairly large. Hotel too noisy to stay to eat so left to eat elsewhere. When we... More

Stayed here for one night on the 20th Feb to watch a band with a friend at a nearby venue. the room we were given (431) was certainly not one which has been upgraded as it does not resemble any of the pictures other travellers have posted on here. It was pretty shabby and if you then seen the rooms... More

Thank you for your review. All our rooms benefited from a soft refurbishment at the end of 2013. With 3 very carefully chosen designs. 431 has the black and gold scheme with brand new comfortable beds, throws, cushions and decor. Yes we did open our new Marco's New York Italian over the weekend however I am disappointed our breakfast was... More

The hotel is very grand, our room was nice and was one of the upgraded ones so got a few nice extras. Problem was the noise from the bar to the side of the hotel. Kept us awake until the early hours as people went in and out and shouted at each other in a drunken manner. The lady on... More

Thank you for writing your review, however, it is disappointing to learn that some of our guests are still being troubled by the city noise after we have fitted secondary glazing and had numerous meetings with the city council noise team, l am sorry. Any noise complaint received is logged with the council to ensure they are aware. Thank you... More

My husband and I stayed here with friends for two nights. The hotel had been upgraded to a good standard. The location is ideal for walking to the city centre. The train station is only a 5 minute walk away while parking is £8.00 per day. Breakfast was lovely with a reasonable variety of fresh produce. Staff were friendly and... More

Thank you for posting a review. I was delighted to read that you would definitely stay again. I was also glad you liked what we have done to our hotel and it is looking great. We have secondary glazing fitted to all front facing rooms that when closed properly they do eradicate the exterior noise. Once again thank you for... More

Really good room and good size. Bed was very comfy which is always very important! For a 4 star hotel it was pretty much what you'd expect however I was disappointed with the shower. The only temperature it seemed to have was scalding hot and the pressure wasn't very constant. At one point it actually cut out completely. I managed... More

Thank you for posting a review. I believe you nisheared what one of the team said to you. We have had a small issue since Severn Trent Water turned the water supply off to the city last week due to a burst water main causing air to get into our system. We thought that it had past with my maintenance... More

Stayed here for valentines with the wife. Very friendly staff and all very clean and well lit. Food was really good and hot. Car parking is fine although you have to pay a fee to park which seems a little unfair but hey ho. My only bad points were the room was small and the heater was only off or... More

Located in the centre of Leicester, the hotel has recently undergone a major face lift bringing the hotel right up to date. I booked through booking.com and paid £54 a night instead of the advertised £127. The room was fantastic, a huge room with a huge bed, the only downside was the small bathroom but I'm told this is not... More

Thank you for your kind review. The refurbishment is coming to and end with a few final details to complete. The feedback has been fantastic. This was my very first stay in Leicester. The hotel is centrally located and easy enough to find in the car due to the excellent signage as you drive in. Reception was chilly, although that was due to the renovation work being accomplished in the main bar area. Check in was smooth, and I did sign up for their rewards... More

Thank you for posting a review from your stay in November. Your headline is a little out of date as the refurbishment which looks amazing has pretty much complete. The rating has been given in anticipation of what the hotel might be like in a few months time. (My visit was in February 2015). The hotel is undergoing a face-lift - and when you see the areas which have yet to be improved, you can see that this is not only long overdue, but is desperately needed. Once complete... More

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. You will be delighted to know that we are very close to finished the major refurbishment of the ground floor.
