We stay at the Doric Hotel in January every year for the Lancashire Federation of Rugby League Supporters Clubs. We are looked after superbly every year! All the staff are great and will deal with any minor problems promptly and efficiently. The bar and dining room staff cannot be faulted. The Doric May not be a 5* hotel but it... More

Our room at the Doric was spotless, spacious and tastefully decorated. The beds were unbelievably comfy, and we couldn't find fault at all. Breakfast is very good, and evening meal cannot be faulted. Entertainment on our visit was a little lacking in quality, however it was a very quiet time of year. The hotel staff are very attentive, and nothing... More

We spent a night at The Doric this weekend. The room decor was a bit dated, but the rooms were spotless, as were public areas. What really makes The Doric stand out is the staff. Everyone - receptionist, housekeeping staff, bar/waiting staff and (especially) the restaurant manager - was friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. My... More

A twixmas stay at the Doric Hotel comes with our highest ever rating, if we could have given more than 5 stars we would. Staff are absolutely First Class, nothing is any trouble, always polite with impeccable manners. Food was wonderful especially the Gala Christmas Dinner, excellent presentation, plentiful and delicious. Cleanliness, this is THE Cleanest Hotel we have stayed... More

First time staying at the doric, nice looking hotel, our room wasnt the warmest which i was surprised about other reviews saying the hotels like a sauna, the bar was very reasonably priced for most hotels i've stayed in, food was good but felt rushed to finish as it seemed the staff had somewhere to be, on the staff subject... Just spent a couple of nights at the Doric and enjoyed it. It was like home from home, the staff were very friendly, the food was very good, the pool was lovely and the entertainment was very good. We had a lovely room overlooking the sea but it wasn,t the warmest room but above all we had a lovely stay.

Just returned again from a great weekend at the Doric, what more can I say than Fantastic as normal. We took our parents for their very 1st visit and they were not disappointed. All the staff at that hotel deserve a mention as all play their part in making this hotel the success which it is. James as always welcomes... More
