We were greeted with "you are a day late". We weren't but that didn't seem to matter to this owner. We proved that we hadn't made a mistake but there was no apology. The front door was Mortice-locked, which we had to on entering and leaving each time, which did not seem very welcoming, even though the handle on the... More

WARNING - Do not stay here if you value your health and well being. Apon arrival we were greeted by an overwelming smell of rotten dogs and stale smoke. There was a dog waiting to greet us which was freindly but stinking. The room had black damp in the seiling, there was a rotten smell of excrement coming from the... More

I stayed in the double room with my friend as we went for a Hen do. The room was a decent size, clean, warm and with an en suite bathroom. The breakfast was lovely, I had the cooked breakfast everything you need after a night out. The owners were very welcoming on arrival and when we left in the morning.... More

Excellent service, lovely couple. As soon as we walked in we noticed the fresh, clean smell. When we arrived Dennis (Hotel owner) welcomed us in at the door and took our bags to our room. A night key is available if you want to go out for the evening, even while the owners are in bed! Nice en-suite bathroom and... More

Seven members of our family (4 adults, 3 children aged 12, 6 and 2) visited The Sefton for a 2 night break, staying in two family rooms. Our party all agreed that with a little TLC, some serious deep cleaning and maybe some investment in the decor this would be a fab little hotel. Even the front of house could... More

Smelt foisty, bedding smelt of stale smoke. Someone was having a cigarette. What topped it off apart from the distance from the centre and also being told there was a carpark (roadside parking) was as I went down for breakfast I stood in dog poo which was in the dining room!!! Dennis picked it up with kitchen roll, placed it... More

Owners were really friendly & helpful, the room was spacious and clean. It was cheap and the breakfast was ok. Was a little out of the way of some things we wanted to do but really worth it and i would definitely stay there again. We stayed in the family room and it was great, little tv with freeview and... My husband, my two sons and myself stayed here for the weekend on June 4th. The rooms are clean and the breakfasts nice, the owners are very nice, giving advise on where to go to eat etc. There is also a 'sun room' with children's toys to keep them entertained. The owners also let us stay until 1pm when our... More
