We went to the Imperial on a bargain break and it was really impressive value for money. We took our Westie with us which is a bonus, the room was a good size and very quiet, clean and comfortable. There was a bottle of wine waiting for us,our 3 course evening meal was superb, the breakfast was very varied and we even had high tea.There... i feel a little mean giving a rating of average but my expectations of the hotel were not met.the room was large and clean , comfortable bed and good size bathroom which had loose tiles and untidy sealant.we were on the second floor and due to the creaking floors you heard every movement above. breakfast was a hot and cold... We stayed as family group on Friday night and we all thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The character of the hotel is old fashioned and very grand you can just imagine carriages pulling up outside. My partner and I had booked at a very reasonable price on late rooms but on arrival agreed to pay extra for a sea view as... More

Good location. Spacious. Staff very helpful but reception could have done with more staff. We had a suit which was very large and nicely furnished. Could have had a few more creature comforts. Bathroom facilities very good but only small bottles of bath gel, shampoo and body lotion - nothing else. Towels were not very large either. The restaurant was... More

I am not sure if my wife and I got this room on the basis that we paid less than usual due to this being part of a holiday package. PROS - Friendly professional Staffs - Nice breakfast - Great location to local amenities and sea view - Good looking hotel - Room looked clean enough and cleaned daily. -... More

Charming old hotel. Stayed for one night as a stop over to Scotland. Could do with a few improvements to the rooms but very nice. Very well run and staff were fantastic and nothing was too much for them. Did not eat dinner but had the breakfast in the morning which was lovely and freshly cooked. Would recommend this hotel... I stayed for 2 nights with my daughter, The bathroom bin had not been emptied and contained someones used ear buds. There were nuts all over the floor. The bathroom had black mould round the edges and the shower curtain smelt damp and awful. The bedding smelt very unclear and when i pulled back the duvet cover the duvet itself... More

I currently have the misfortune of staying in the Imperial Hotel, where it is 12.34 at night and I am still being kept awake by music so loud that it is making the bed vibrate. This is definitely the BIGGEST problem, but the yellow stains on the bedding aren't great either...

I stayed here recently and have really struggled as to whether to post anything about it such was my disappointment. I believe this is room 140 but cannot remember now. Yes that is the view from the only window in the room. Broken tiles in the bathroom and urine on the toilet seat. Iwas so stunned I went and got... More
