Just returned from a weekend at the Southbank, now the Royal Alexandra as they have bought the hotel next door, booked through Blackpool Promotions and have to say, me my wife and thirteen year old daughter had a great time. Yes it's not the Ritz but what we paid could not complain, perfect base for Blackpool, rooms adequate, food great... More

We travelled in a group for a Monday to Friday break with Blackpool Promotions and found like other reviews the rooms were a bit small. The lift takes forever to arrive and you need a map to work out where your room is.Lack of cloth hangers in the single wardrobe for a double room. Very small en suite. The double bed... More

We went in and it was shifty hallways and really narrow which I thought it's fine until we got to the rooms. Rooms were even smaller and packed. It does look and feel care home. I can't describe the food though. Staff are unfriendly in the dining room. Menu is unclear and they just shove in whatever they want in... More

Returned a week ago from a Blackpool Promotions trip with 10 friends to celebrate my 50th birthday, staying at the Southbank. After reading some of the previous reviews, we were slightly apprehensive about staying at this hotel, we needn't have been. Yes the hotel is slightly dated, but for value for money and it's friendliness it has to be one... More

Have just returned from this hotel after a 1 night party night with Blackpool Promotions. We arrived at about half past 2, check in was fairly quick. Our room was on the third floor and tiny. There was a double bed, a single bed, wardrobe with door hanging off, very dirty stool, tv and tea/coffee facilities. En-suite shower facilities were... More
