Spent 3 nights over bank holiday at The Hideaway and absolutely loved it. Great location, breakfast is top quality (including homemade croissants), very friendly and helpful staff, elegant room (No.10). Would definitely recommend, great base to explore Windemere and surrounding areas.

Just got back from a 3 night stay at this wonderful B&B. It was our first visit to the Lake District, but definitely won't be the last! Lisa checked us in and gave us a map of the area, showing us directions to walk into Windermere, before showing us to our room. Room 1 was our home and I loved... More

Lisa and the rest of the staff were so nice and super polite. We arrived after the usual check in time but they made arrangements so we could self check-in. Everyone was so accomodating! Breakfast was delicious and the choice in the menu was good although I went for full English breakfast every morning :) Cake and tea/coffee was also... More

A short walk from the Windermere train station on a residential side road but also within a quick walk to town center and its restaurants. And about 20 minutes down to Bowness, the ferry, etc. Lovely room (number 1) which has a beautiful private patio and claw-foot tub (new) that is wonderful to soak in after a day of hiking.... More

Really lovely hotel and staff. It is in a quiet and peaceful location with a spacious car park yet within easy walking distance of the shops and restaurants in Windermere. The staff are helpful and friendly without being intrusive. Afternoon tea and cakes was a lovely treat - best Victoria Sponge ever! We stayed in Room 1 which has private... More

Away from the hustle and bustle of Windermere (well for the lake district) but close enough to wander into the village the Hideaway is in reality worthy of a 5 star hotel just smaller. The silence was only broken by birdsong and the church bells (and the occassional fighter jet). Friendly staff, spotless room (room 3) and tasty cake and... More

Absolutely loved our stay, have been 3 times now! Well recommended especially the breakfast! Always a warm welcome. A very peaceful, relaxing hotel! Afternoon tea and cake is lovely well needed after a day of walking! The rooms are beautifully decorated and extremely clean. Most definitely will go back again.

Following a recommendation from a friend we came to the hideaway for a relaxing break in search of peace and quiet. We certainly found that here. We stayed in room 10 which is one of the more expensive rooms in the eaves of the grand house. It was lovely and a real treat! Breakfast and afternoon tea as others have... More

Me and my partner visited the Hideaway in June 2013 for two nights. Our stay was perfect from checking in to checking out. We were greeted by friendly staff who carried our bags up to our room for us and offered complimentary tea and cake out in the garden- this was a lovely touch and the chocolate cake was delicious....
