It's been a few months since we first visited - the only regret that time was that it didn't coincide with one of the weekends where they were doing food. This time we'd got a mail advising of a New Year dining weekend so we couldn't resist. The room was every bit as good as last time (we chose the... More

Stayed for four nights the week after our wedding. Check in with Lisa was warm and welcoming. We stayed in one of the Super Comfy rooms which was nicely decorated, extremely spacious with seating area and a lovely bathroom. Breakfasts were more than you could wish for and also catered well for vegetarians. The complimentary afternoon tea and cakes were... More

This hidden gem has to be one of the best places I have ever stayed. The rooms are brilliant. The staff are fantastic, they know how to make cocktails, and boy do they know how to cook! The food is without a doubt the best food I have ever eaten at a hotel. I would recommend the hideaway to anybody

A fantastic location and wonderful boutique hotel. We stayed in room 1, which had its own entrance and a gorgeous roll top bath. We had the complimentary afternoon tea and cakes on our 2nd day, cakes were delicious and it was a really nice treat. Breakfast was super high quality well cooked and local. The best breakfast we've had! We... More

As you turn into Pheonix Way the The Hideaway is described as "B&B and Beyond" and it certainly is. Bedrooms are delightful, and spotless. Breakfasts cannot be faulted. Afternoon teas truly scrumptious. This was our second visit this year, having sampled its hospitality decided to return for the New Year when evening meals were included. What a treat it turned... After enjoying our visit to The Hideaway in October so much, we decided to return again for New Year. As always, Lisa and Richard were extremely welcoming and so friendly. The rooms that we have stayed in (11 and 8), were spotless on arrival and equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, shower toiletries and dressing robes. The homemade cakes... More

We spent another New Year at the Hideaway - have been going there for over 5 years now. Everything was absolutely fantastic. Beautiful, comfortable room, incredible food, and the afternoon tea & cakes served in the lovely lounge is a real extra treat. Thank you again to Lisa and Richard and all your excellent staff for a brilliant stay. The... More

We booked the 2 night New Year package after finding 'The Hideaway' on the Internet. What a find..... The place is amazing. Rooms are well equipped, food is extremely high quality and the owners are wonderful - they are very attentive and think of all the little things that make a difference to your stay. I can't recommend this place... More

We stayed here for two nights, during which point the Lake District decided to throw Storm Clodagh at us. We couldn't have picked a better place in which to hide away from the weather. Lovely staff, and great service. Lisa in particular was very friendly. The cake was an added bonus, and breakfast was delicious. Will definitely return.
