The Hideaway is a superb place to stay in the beautiful town of Windermere. Room 7 was beautifully appointed. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting in the manicured garden eating the complimentary cake. The breakfast was one of the best I've eaten. The quality of ingredients and preparation were exemplary. The small croissants and banana bread a lovely touch. My fiancé's scrambled... More

Me and my now Fiancé spent 3 nights at The Hideaway only last week. The place is lovely, clean and grounds well maintained. On arrival Thomas was more than friendly in showing us around the property and too our room. Each morning breakfast was amazing and they accommodated for my partners vegetarian needs. The rooms were clean, 2 of the... More

Four of us stayed in this spotlessly clean and well run hotel for two nights. We very much enjoyed our tea and cake on arrival in the afternoon and the breakfasts were plentiful and beautifully cooked. We also enjoyed the spacious sitting room after our Dinner in recommended Restaurants, where we played Bridge before bed! My bed was very comfortable... More

Lisa and Richard warmly welcomed us on arrival. We were shown to our rooms (5&6) and felt right at home. To my delight all the bedding was cotton, white and felt just like my own bed at home. Tastefully and neutrally decorated. Our bathroom had a large tub, and our friends had a shower - both very clean and well... More

My mum and I had a short 2 night break and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves here, a place that felt like home from home. The staff looked after us very well and it's true that the breakfasts are AMAZING! My mum had bought some champagne and it was no trouble for them to provide glasses and an ice bucket for... More

My wife and I have just returned home from a 5 day stay in this exceptionally warm and welcoming hotel. The owners and staff really made us feel at home and couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable and had everything we required. The bonus for us was to return "home" after exploring the area to... More

A great b&b situated on the outskirts of the busy village but close enough for a gentle stroll to restaurants for an evening meal. Our room ticked all the boxes with a generous bathroom, ample towels and bathrobes and a very comfortable bed. Afternoon tea is a huge plus and we were sorry we could only manage to take this... My girlfriend and I have just returned from a wonderful two day break in the Lake District - our stay at The Hideaway being the runaway highlight. From our arrival at dinner time Saturday to our departure on Monday morning, Richard and Lisa were the most welcoming and accommodating of hosts. The hotel itself has the right mixture of countryside... More

We stayed at the Hideaway for 2 nights and was absolutely lovely. The owners were lovely, attentive and friendly. Our room was quiet, spacious and very clean. It was not a dining weekend so we ate out. However if breakfast was anything to go by, we shall endeavour to return when evening meals are on the menu. A fabulous find.

We recently stayed here for a week and would definitely recommend it. We were in room 10, which is a relaxing and quiet room at the top of the house. Breakfast each day was good, and the staff were professional and friendly. Afternoon tea was a real treat - especially being able to enjoy it in the garden with the... More
