Superb place to stay ,absolutely spotless and very comfortable ,breakfast was good and the owners friendly .ideal for a lakes break ,would recommend highly it was even sunny for us when we stopped ! It's about five minutes walk into Windermere centre ,some places to eat here but for more variety go down to bowness .

My husband and I stayed in room 3 for three nights in the beginning of April. The hotel is located in a quiet lane yet very close to Windermere town at all (5-10 minutes walking distance). Greeting upon arrival from Richard was very friendly, and the complimentary tea and cakes were so tasty and were a very pleasant surprise! The... More

We stayed here for one night last week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We stayed in room 8 which, although one of the smaller rooms was lovely and on a return visit we'd definitely like to stay in this room again. Tea and cake in the afternoon was great, we both had chocolate cake which was very nice. In the... More

My boyfriend and I just returned from The Hideaway. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and couldn't find fault with anything. We stayed in room 4 - although one of the smaller rooms, it was spacious enough for us and incredibly clean. There was bottles of water provided, tea/coffee facilities, a hair dryer and bath robes. These are little things... More

Fantastic mid week break away at this hotel. Service was excellent, staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel itself is very peaceful and serene with fantastic facilities. We stayed in room 12. Lovely room with a heavenly bath and the most comfortable bed/mattress we have slept on. We will be going out and buying one similar! Also the breakfasts... More

Stayed here for four nights as a short break could not fault any aspect well only the weather but we can't control that now can we. Everything from the welcome on arrival to the goodbye ensured that that the desired reasons for choosing the Hideaway were well placed. Breakfast was cooked to order and a varied hearty menu was offered... More

This is a great, inviting place to come to "get away from it all". Beautifully decorated, meticulous attention to detail, very friendly, polite, professional owner staff. Wonderful breakfasts, where Lisa and Richard would remember our preferences for tea, without prompting. Lovely room (number 1) with its own outdoor patio, looking out on the garden. Generally lovely and quiet. Such a... More

We stayed for two nights in this lovely hotel. It has the period features with a modern twist. Great service and friendly atmosphere. Even down to afternoon tea served in a very chilled sitting room. Only a five minute walk to the middle of Windemere and a little more to Bowness. The rooms are decorated to a high standard and... More

This was our final stop on a 4 day walking trip across the Lakes. We arrived wet and dishevelled to be warmly welcomed by the joint owner with complimentary tea and cake. Our room, overlooking the front garden was delightful. The bed was a little on the soft side but we both slept well and had an absolutely wonderful breakfast, the... More
