We made a last minute booking here. Location lovely, wonderful 4 poster room. Good value for money in the room we got overlooking the lake. I would however, not have wanted to pay £120 for a room at the back of the hotel. We wanted dinner, but they could not serve us. Breakfast was also confused. I left with the... More

We went to Cragwood for a 'Just Us' Wedding. From the moment we walked through the door we was made to feel most welcome. We was shown to our room which overlooked Lake Windermere. We then went and explored the grounds which again was absolutely wonderful. Just us package involves a 2 night stay with 4 course dinner both evenings.... More

Spent 3 nights at this hotel and give it a full 5 stars! The hotel itself is full of character and olde world charm however the rooms are very modern and beautifully decorated but very in keeping with the rest of the hotel. Breakfast was excellent and the views are outstanding. The gardens are wonderful to walk around early in... More

A group of us stayed for 3 nights, to play golf at Windermere and to revisit some Lake District sites and walks. This hotel is an extended fine old house in beautiful grounds on the shores of the lake. The location is central to the main Lakeland areas. The service is friendly and excellent. The food is truly wonderful, especially... More

Had a one night stay at the hotel having booked two rooms directly with the hotel. Very good clean and well styled rooms with tea/coffee making facilities with a variety of teas. Biscuits and boiled sweets also provided which was a nice touch. One of the rooms had a bath with shower, the other a shower cubicle. Very good views... More

Really lovely stay. Great location, wonderful friendly staff, excellent food. We had an evening meal on the second night that we stayed at the Hotel. The food was so good, we'd say it rivals top high class restaurants. We were travelling down from Glasgow to London and thought we'd stay here on the way down based on the reviews of... More

Just stayed the one night at this wonderful hotel, just me, my husband & 16month old son, but wish we could have stayed longer! The customer service is exceptional - staff couldn't do enough to help us out with our wee boy! The grounds are beautiful & peaceful. The food was very nice & it's in a great location for... More

Well, we all know the reputation of English cuisine! And I think we, travellers, are all a bit wary about hotel food... Try this one! The food was superb! Right portions, nice presentation but above all exquisite! And this is not talking about the magnifiscent location...Right on the lake with superb views. The hotel itself is a nice Mansion typical...
