I believe Cragwood was once a private home. I only wish it were mine. Arriving I was struck by the glorious atmosphere. Comforting, welcoming a really nice place to be. Great view of the lake and surrounding hills and plenty of space to be sociable or for quiet reflection. Very comfortable room with all the usual tea/coffee making apparatus and... More

We stayed at the Cragwood for one night with a family of five (3 adults and two teenagers). We stayed in one standard king and one family room (king with a twin bed). We stayed in the newer side of the manor house, which is beautiful. Cragwood is 100 years old and was originally a private home that had a... More

My partner and I booked a two night stay (and wedding) at Cragwood Country House Hotel in August 2015. It was perfect in every single way, and we will remember our experience for a lifetime. We opted to get married on our own, and have the wedding breakfast and reception closer to home. Many people were dubious about the arrangement... More

Such a relaxing place with gorgeous grounds, the room was a good size and imaculate and facilities to match . Staff are really helpful especially accommodating my husbands bike when we met him here with a large dog. Nothing wss too much trouble for any of them. Will visit again.

We are only staying one night but I wish it were longer. The hotel and the staff and the location couldn't be better. Our room is amazing with such attention to detail. Love it! The hotel is country house hotel which should be rated 5 star. It only has 3 because they don't have a lift so you get really... More

Myself and husband have just visited Cragwood with our dog, Summer. All I can say is how amazing all the staff were at accommodating us and especially Summer as she is a very large dog. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit the Lakes with their dog. Thanks to all who made our stay so... More

We visited for my partner's birthday and had a meal in the restaurant it was FANTASTIC! ! Well worth the price paid. The room we stayed in had been recently refurbished and was spotlessly clean. The views from the hotel over lake windermere are gorgeous and we were lucky enough to have lovely weather and be able to sit outside... More

I have just returned from a 1 nights stay at the hotel after visiting my mother, who was staying for a short summer break The hotel & grounds are beautiful with stunning views of the lake from the terrace. The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble, they were even kind enough to sterilise my 7 week olds... More

This is a beautiful property and we were very excited to stay here. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the grounds are colorful, with flowers everywhere. We met a friendly groundskeeper on a walk about the property and complimented him on his beautiful work. Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed in our room. We stayed in room 20, which is...
