Just had two loveley weeks at Glenville. Room clean and well decorated. Owners and all their staff very friendly and helpful. The menu for breakfast takes some beating. Anyone who leaves the breakfast room hungry only has themselves to blame! Only a 10 minute walk down to the lake, and on the way you will find endless places to eat... more

The hotel is quite a distance from town, on quite a busy road, we were on the ground floor, overlooking the road, this could have been because we booked the accommodation quite late. The room was spacious with all general facilities, but no nice homely touches. The breakfast was delicious, but we didn't enjoy been woken by Michael Buble, playing... more

This was an experience we could have done without. Should have realised the unfriendly voice on the other end of the phone when booking was the portent of worse to come. My wife and I still itch when we think of it!! Could tell more but probably enough said. Very disappointing - the website makes it look so good. It... more

My partner and I booked a two night stay at Glenville House towards the end of July. The B&B is ideally located between Bowness and Windermere and within walking distance to both. We were allocated a superior room and were duely impressed by it. The room was immaculate and of a comfortable size. The highlight of Glenville is undoubtedly the... more

The B&B is located on the main road between Windemere and Bowness. It is a short walk to Windemere and a little longer to Bowness. There was a little traffic noise but this did not disturb our sleep. Our room at Glenville was clean and comfortable and with a very small ensuite bathroom. The TV had a good range of... more

I booked and paid for a superior double and managed to negotiate a price of £180 for 2 nights B & B. We informed the owner we would be arriving about 8pm and was told this would be fine. We arrived just before 8pm to be informed that the owner had double booked our room and that we would be... more

After the usual Christmas mayhem my wife and I were looking for somewhere to stay for a a long weekend in The Lakes, an area we haven't really explored. I found Glenville House using Google and the reviews were very good so I booked it through Booking.com. We arrived mid afternoon after a thankfully easy trip up the M6. Glenville... more

My wife and I needed a break from work for a few days and found this hotel in Bowness. It looked good on the website but was even better when we got there. We were greeted by Lynne, who was very pleasant and made us very welcome. The room on the first floor was fabulous. There was a welcome tray... more

A fantastic b&b in a wonderful location. Just a few minutes walk to central Windermere, yet private and tranquil. Clean, comfortable, spacious rooms with flat panel TV. Friendly service and a wonderful breakfast. Well worth the visit if you're going to the Lakes. more
