We had a very enjoyable stay at the Merewood in the summer . We were allocated Room 11 in advance which has a wide bay window with lovely views looking towards the Lake (mostly obscured by trees in August!). Stayed in Room 5 mid-week so were probably a little too spoilt. Loved the log fires, Mark the Canadian bar man, tasted pigeon for the first time, best wine list we've ever seen and some suprisingly good value wines for a place of this calibre. more
