My then-boyfriend (now 'fiancée') planned a trip to Windermere for us, he proposed on a boat and then took me to stay at Denehurst Guest House. Ken was so welcoming and friendly during our entire stay. He offered to dry our rain-soaked clothes in their personal dryer, and was more than helpful when it came to finding somewhere to go... More

We stayed at the Denehurst for just one night and were immediately impressed. On arrival we received a warm welcome from Ken and Cindy, along with lots of useful local information and tips. Our room was beautiful, clean and had everything you would need. The choice for breakfast was great and we can thoroughly recommend the full Cumberland breakfast! Overall,... More

Have just returned from our 3rd stay at Denehurst, We were visiting the lakes with friends and did not think of booking anywhere other than Denehurst. The main reason being Ken and Cindy, the owners. Nothing is a bother to them, and although poor Cindy had sprained her ankle she still managed to struggle on and provide second to none... More

We recently spent 3 nights at Denehurst B&B. We stayed in room 1 which was on the first floor. Ken assisted us to carry the bags up to our room. The room was a reasonable size, tastefully furnished and spotlessly clean. Ken and Cindy obviously take great pride in their B&B. Parking was on the street and although we came... More

First time at the Deanehurst and not the Last, both Ken and Cindy make you feel welcome and attend to all your needs, Rooms were clean and roomy (room2) but room 3 looked a little more moden. Breakfast was ample to set you up for the day and if you need something a little different, ask and if possible they... More

We last visited the Lake District two years ago and we stayed with Ken and Cindy on that occasion. We were so well looked after that we did not think twice about booking with them on this visit with friends. The bedroom and ensuite were immaculate, the guest lounge was a comfortable place to relax and the plethora of local... More

My usually useless hubbie, booked Denehurst for a birthday weekend sans baby. Great choice. Ken and Cindy, the owners, were so friendly, welcoming and enthusiastic about all things/activities Lakeland. Guest living room was a lovely place to relax, the bedroom and ensuite was spotlessly clean and breakfast was lovely (perfect poached eggs according to usually useless hubbie). Great location half... We have just had 4 nights at Denehurst and as always it was perfect. We have stayed here 5 times in the last 6 years and would highly recommend it to anyone especially people back home in Melbourne Australia. Ken and Cindy are great hosts and their knowledge of the local area is immense and they are only too happy... More

Chose the Denehurst due to the glowing reviews on trip advisor and the price. We where a bit worried that they might have be fake reviews due to them all being so good...but as soon as we arrived we could see why everyone loves it soo much! Ken was very welcoming and could not help us enough. The room was... More
