Spent a wonderful weekend at the lake districts even though the weather was outright lousy. The Glenburn however was wonderful. Friendly staff, comfortable and inviting common spaces. Nice bar. Well appointed decor, comfortably furnished,......you get the idea. Needless to say the free wifi was excellent. Breakfast service was fine. It is situated right on New Road within a comfortable walking... More

We stayed at The Glenburn very last minute - having decided to spend Easter in the Lakes we struggled to find somewhere that had accommodation at very short notice. Luckily, we found the Glenburn...recently refurbished and looking very smart we took the family room which was itself very spacious, although the bathroom was very small - room enough only for... Thank you for taking the time to write this review we really appreciate it. Sorry about the wifi it isn't normally as temperamental as it was Easter weekend. I am afraid Windermere isn't the best place in the world for phone signals and broadband. Providers keep promising super fast broadband but unfortunately they are super slow in providing. Nice review... More

Had a fantastic two night break here: hotel is warm and welcoming and the staff are second to none. The chef is just great....good cooking, nice presentation, decent wine and very good value.Breakfast: the full English is perfectly cooked. Location halfway between Windermere and Bowness is very convenient, and there's a bus stop practically outside. I recommend booking direct with... More

A lovely hotel in a great location, halfway between Windermere and Bowness. Booked a 2 night break directly with the hotel which was very good value. The evening meal was exellent so ate there a second night. The hotel is exceptionally well maintained and the staff are lovely. Rooms are really well appointed. A really lovely break. Thanks!

Our party of 5 stayed 4 nights at the Glenburn in 3 rooms. We had a Single, Standard and a Superior room and all satisfied there occupants. We had evening meals each night and virtually tried all of the menu between us........all very nice and no complaints at all. A Soya milk request for one was happily accomodated. Owners and... More

What a gem The Glenburn Hotel is - it's rare to find such a well presented and cared for hotel, with owners and staff who really look after their guests. The location is ideal, an easy walk into both Windermere and Bowness, yet overlooking woodland and very peaceful at night. The bedrooms are stunning: tastefully decorated, well furnished and spacious.... More

We stayed at the River Cottage belonging to The Glenburn Hotel for 2 nights with some friends. The cottage was very clean and spacious, enough for the 5 of us and it was walking distance to the town centre. My friends even remarked that it should be classed as a 4* accommodation, not 3*. Even though it was supposed to... More

We went for a night with my wife and daughter. The room was small and the room and hotel need a lot of work to update it. My wife is gluten free but when I asked the staff in the morning they simply said they didn't know, Im sure there are laws about this now, anyway, don't think we'll stay... More

Thank you for your review. I can assure the guest that we do cater for guests who are Gluten Free. Normally guests let us know in advance and I myself go out and purchase any products required. I am not sure which room the guest stayed in as this goes back to November but our family triple room is a... More

The hotel was warm and immaculate, very comfortable room, spotless clean, hot efficient shower. Lovely staff and the food was top of the range, flavoursome and excellent selection. I did book specifically for the spa, which late rooms and the hotel website said was available. It has now been changed and hopefully the renovations will be complete. I can see... More
