Just returned from Windermere after finding this little gem by chance. Totally relaxed atmosphere, a nice chill out place with lovely owners and staff. Excellent food, couple of beers on tap what more can you want. Thank you! Louise more

We very much enjoyed our stay. The service was excellent-very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable with all the amenities we required. As well as breakfast we had dinner in the restaurant each night of our stay and thoroughly enjoyed all our food which was good quality and well cooked. In a good position for access to... more

Booked because of the reviews on Trip Advisor, rang up to make the booking as per previous review and booked room 8 as it looked the nicest of the Deluxe rooms. The receptionist got a little confused at times but was very helpful. We arrived a little early and allowed us to check in but wouldn't let us have our... more

Just spent 5 days over Easter at this hotel which was clean and so much better than the 2 stars awarded. Breakfasts excellent and despite being busy service was quick. Had dinner twice in the restaurant - excellent food. Staff friendly and helpful. Received Easter egg outside our door which was nice touch. Also provided afternoon tea and delicious cake... more

I notice my sister Claire has wrtitten a great review regarding our Father's 60th celebration. I would like to agree completely with what has been written. Jackie and Keith went out of their way to make this a really special celebration. Our meal on the Friday evening was superb despite the Head Chef leaving that day. We also had our... more

We stayed at The Glenburn the weekend before Christmas 2008 for my fathers 60th birthday. There was a party of 20 adults and 4 children. The hotel was absolutely fabulous in every way. I booked directly and spoke with Jackie, the owner, several times before our visit as we wanted to make the weekend special. Jackie was very helpful and... more

A well appointed, comfortable hotel that provides good value for money. Well placed to get into Windermere, Bowness and southern Lakes. Based on our room (13,) much money has been spent on decoration and fittings - ours had a new bathroom. Staff helpful, service good, what more can you ask for? Keith more

my boyfriend took me to this hotel for my birthday and it was the best weekend. The hotel is really cozy and homely. Couldn't fault the staff who were very welcoming and recommended nice places to eat and visit. The breakfast was lovely, again couldn't complain. Spa bath was really relaxing and added that little extra to the stay. rooms... more

A warm welcome with mulled wine and mince pies greeted us, our hostess was very friendly and accommodating, the ambiance was lovely and the location couldn't have been better-just minutes from the lake. The beds were very comfortable and we found the breakfasts included in the room rate fabulous. Prices were very reasonable, especially considering it was Christmas Eve,the staff couldn't have... more
