Please ignore any bad reviews about this hotel. I travelled to the Damson Dene with my children and parents for a short stay during the summer. The staff are all really friendly and the food was lovely. I enjoyed having a little time to myself in the gym which overlooks the hill, certainly the best gym view I have had,... more

A terrible hotel! We booked late for a wedding near by and were disappointed from the moment we arrived. The first night was spent in a tiny twin room which was awkwardly jammed with grubby furniture and was boiling hot with only a noisy fan to cool us down. Breakfast was motorway services-style buffet; cheap ingredients poorly cooked. The next... more

We are really upset to receive this review. The hotel has recently been refurbished and has a new manager in place and since then the reviews on the hotel have gone from strength to strength and all the guests leave happy and relaxed. The rooms in the Damson Dene are not the spacious modern style that a lot of people...

We set off from Keswick after depositing our daughter with friends and arrived at this secluded hotel in the afternoon, it was raining and dull, having negotiated our way around the builders to the reception, we were met with a smile and a warm welcome, The Hotel is comfortable and quiet, has a good Spa area and a very nice... more

With virtually no neighbouring premises, Damson Dene has a tranquil setting. Not only dog friendly, but human friendly too! As usual nowadays the staff are multi-national and gave excellent service. Dining room is spacious and tables not jammed up too close to one another. One room we occupied had obviously been refurbished whilst the other although still awaiting its turn,... more

Just returned from a lovely and relaxing 2 night stay at the Damson Dene Hotel. I was put off by the previous postings that i read but please ignore them! My husband and I booked Dinner bed and breakfast, and I'm glad we did because the food was excellent, well presented, lovely and hot. Even though there were only 4... more

Hotel appeared to be welcoming from the front and all public rooms were well maintained and appeared to be cosy, however we brought our dog and asked if there was another exit other than main entrance to take him out and we were told that we could take him through fire exit. On opening door of fire exit we were... more

location is very good for a getaway break, Double room was nice size clean and homely. As my husband is disabled we were upset there is no tv 90% of the time, all because the area has gone digital. Please try and do something about this. more

I booked the Damson Dene hotel for my wife, 2 year old child, Mother & father in law and 2 nieces. The hotels first impression is good both outside and front of house. The check in was ok but lets face it it’s not a major chain. Our room (21) was a good size. We were still able to get... more

My Husband and I got married at the Damson Dene on 25th July 2009. Marta, the wedding planner, is excellent and I would highly recommend her to anyone! Please note that most of the reviews on here are not a true reflection of the hotel. We had over 100 guests during the day and over 130 in the evening. Everything... more
