We had a 3 night stay at the cottage. Paul and Sue were fabulous and friendly hosts. They gave lots of loc knowledge of places to visit, eat and park. The breakfast every morning was great with a good variety to choose from. The room (Buttermere) was very clean and well equipped with a good powerful hairdryer and also iron... More

My wife and I cannot recommend Montfort Cottage enough. We stayed for 2 nights and loved every minute. A warm welcome from Sue who could not have been more friendly and we immediately settled In. The room was beautifully decorated and we had a lovely view down the hill and the hills beyond Lake Windermere. We had the room with... More

My partner and I stayed at Montfort Cottage for 5 nights as we were visiting on a holiday. We stayed in Buttermere room which I was worried about as it is downstairs (and I thought there might be a lot of noise), however, the hosts do ask that people come in quietly and we did not have any noise issues... Stayed here for 2 nights last week and instantly felt at home thanks to great hospitality from Paul and Sue. The room was everything we needed and filled with great little home comforts. The breakfasts were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble for our hosts, who always had a suggestion for us if we were travelling out to a... More

Sue and Paul are lovely and cook a delicious breakfast. There was plenty of choice too. We stayed in the Windermere room which was super with a very comfortable (and large) bed! Shower was a bit weak but otherwise great! Would recommend.

My husband and I stayed here for three nights for a wedding we were attending in the area. We were warmly welcomed by Sue and shown to our lovely room on the second floor (Thirlmere). The breakfast each morning was lovely with a great selection and very generous servings! We really appreciated the little extra things - like hot chocolate... More

We stayed at Montfort Cottage for a 3 night short break. Even before we got the, the owner Paul text to say our room would be ready for us when we arrived early afternoon. The room (we stayed in Buttermere) was lovely and spacious and modern with a lovely bay window and seating area. Paul and Sue were lovely hosts... More

The accommodation was amazing. The rooms were immaculate and the breakfasts were amazing! A wide range of choice cooked to perfection by Paul & Sue. Both were very knowledgeable and happy to give advice on what to do in the area. Ideally located about 10 minutes walk from the lake I would recommend booking here! Definitely will be back soon!

Great accomodation, breakfasts and hosts. Ideally located within walking distance between Windermere & Bowness, Montfort Cottage offers great ensuite accomodation. Paul & Sue's breakfasts offer great choice, from full English to Muffins with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, just mouthwateringly delicious! Paul & Sue are great hosts who helped with suggestions of places to visit. Will definitely visit again.
