The room was clean and tidy. The breakfast was fantastic, lots and lots of choice. The location is very good for Bowness, 5-10 min walk to the lake and the restaurants. Its also a short 5-10 minute walk to Windermere. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again if up that way. more

I did not like this B&B. It was the worst I have ever stayed in. Looking at the pictures of the rooms on the website, it seems nice but our room was nothing like this. I think we were overcharged because the quality of our room on the third floor (no elevator), was very inferior. The bed was so hard... more

I booked this hotel because the owners had the same surname as me. What a good choice, they were (of course) lovely. The room was scrupulously clean and very comfortable and quiet, I slept really well. We stayed at St. John'sLodge in August 2007. Although the weather was not great the hospitality offered by Sue and Barry was second to none. Our room was beautifully clean and tidy and the facilities more than adequate. The highlight was the breakfast menu. With so many choices we had difficulty deciding what to choose each morning.
