My girlfriend and I spent 2 nights here over the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it! We booked a Feature Room with a Lake View - bit more expensive than a classic room of course, but very worth it as the view over the lake was fantastic! The room itself had a king size bed and massive bathroom with both bath... more

We have recently returned form a long weekend spent with elderly relatives at this beautiful hotel. The rooms were delightful with breathtaking views across Lake Windemere. My parents and my husbands parents who are all in their 70's/80's were made to feel very welcome. The service was excellent and always with a smile. Will definately be returning very soon. more

Not a luxury hotel as claimed but a comfortable country house hotel if rather overpriced. Not the gourmet menu expected either but another pretentious ironic menu lacking all generosity that surely by now has had its day. A return to a more traditional standard of fine dining is long overdue. Neither can the delay in the restaurant be easily forgiven.... more

We stayed one night at the Storrs Hotel on the 25th September for our anniversary staying in one of the luxury rooms with a view of the lake. It was wonderful. The room was huge and the decor very becoming of this lovely building. The staff were so pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is excellent. The... more

We stayed here on the 16/09/09 for one night in Room 5 on a BB&EM basis, wow what an experience! A luxurious room, complete with stunning views of the lake & an incredible en suite. An old hotel with fantastic interiors, superb staff, incredible food and great surroundings. Without doubt a great experience, thankyou to all. more

Stayed here with my husband for a quiet break, we're both 40 years of age. Enjoyed the relaxation, lovely grounds to walk round, great views of Lake Windermere. Had dinner in the hotel restaurant as part of our package, food was very nice, superbly presented, staff very attentive. Only negative was on checking out we were overcharged by around £28... more

Having spent a day at the northern lakes, then another around Grasmere, we booked this hotel at the last minute for our final day and what a great decision. The hotel is old fashioned but classy. Our room was not very big but adequate for our use with TV, tea/coffee and the usual toiletries. The linen, towels etc. were very... more

I have stayed at Storrs Hall before and also in the Lodges and always loved the beautiful setting of this hotel. I saw on the English Lakes Hotel web pages about the rooms for £10 a night and thought it a little too good to be true, surely there was a catch. I phoned up and finally got through and... more

I have just returned from a one night stay at Storrs Hall for my girlfriends birthday and I can honestly say that it was the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in. Yes, in some places it could have done with a lick of paint but its a Georgian historic mansion! I paid extra for the lakeside view and we... more

Dear Jonnyfro, Thank you for your kind comments. We have painted, earlier in the year, the complete outside of our extensive building. This was part of our ongoing annual maintenance programme, which also include other areas, inside and outside. I am pleased you enjoyed the view, together with the Cloudy Bay; a description of a feeling one might get at...

We recently spent 3 nights at Storrs Hall (a venue we were very much looking forward to). Unfortunately it does not live up to what it advertises to be. The location is without a doubt beautiful but Storrs Hall itself could do with some maintenance and upkeep. Our room smelled musty even though we kept the window open the entire... more
