We chose this B&B because of location and last-minute availability as we had car trouble and needed to stay close to the garage. I should have left after the first rude comment (directed toward me, but I chose to believe it was a joke or a strange sarcasm). This continued throughout the stay. Room was dirty, bedding shabby, David the... more

We came for the weekend and found this place at the last minute. The owner was quite nosy and unprofessional, with little regard for guests' privacy. The room smelled bad, and was freezing at night. The hot tap was a trickle, the carpets were dirty and the walls were like cardboard. We reported the heating problem, and the owner refused... more

We had a very pleasant stay at Brendan Chase and found it an ideal base to tour the surrounding Lake District. Accommodation very comfortable and breakfast highly recommended - the award winning sausages were particularly wholesome! The owner made us very welcome and directed us to good local hostelries and restaurants - nothing was too much trouble for him. Excellent... more

We visited Brendan Chase at the weekend and enjoyed our stay very much .This is our third visit over the past few years and can recommend it as being clean, comfortable and excellent value for money, the breakfast was most enjoyable, we were given the usual warm welcome and will return. The owner, David has a sense of humour and... more

I happened to be there yesterday and unfortunately, I am extremely disappointed by the way I and my friends from Germany and Poland were treated. The owner is unprofessional and rude e.g. didn't let us finish our breakfast even though we came on time and started cleaning our room before we even had a chance to leave it. The whole... more

Oh dear where should I start ! Arrived at the property after a tiring drive to find nowhere to park, which wasnt a problem as the owner David stated there was private parking for his property. We phoned him and he said he would come out and stand with an umbrella so we could easily spot him ! ( bearing... more

We were asked to leave at 1030 in the night!! We drove into Windermere and decided to stay at Brendan chase for 2 nights as the property was centrally located. Even before we got our luggage in, the owner (David) irritated us with his rude and sarcastic jokes. However the charm of pretty Windermere was too good to dampen our... more

With my daughter and her family I stayed one night over the early Bank holiday weekend. My son-in-law found it easy to find and was pleased he had a space to park in. David refused a deposit from me as I only booked a week prior to our visit. We found him to be very helpful and appreciated that he... more
