We were very impressed by this great little B & B. We had not booked so it was just by chance that we ended up spending the night and I am so glad we did. Our room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was delicious. Very happy to recommend.

Stayed here last year on a visit to the Lakes. Bowness is pretty hectic, but if you're after a nice central location, all within a period property, then Rose cottage is a fantastic little find.
The B&B is extremely cosy and welcoming. Service was superb throughout our stay, and it was great just being able to walk out for our...

I can only echo what the majority of people have previoulsy written about Rose Cottage, in that its in a great location, its is a very pleasant place to stay, with an owner who makes things tick over nicely without you ever really knowing she is there. The fact that you get a free parking permit for the car park...

Booked this bed and breakfast for my parents Ruby wedding anniversary. The lady who owns it was very helpful, and even left them a card and box of chocs in their room! The location is perfect as it is in the centre of Bowness, in easy walking distance of all the shops and restaurants. Apparently the breakfast was lovely too....

Really nice 2 night stay Easter 2012. The cottage is easy to find, as you come into Bowness towards the lake turn right at Costa Coffee and there it is opposite the church. You are immediately given a parking permit for the main car park 2 minutes away, this in itself saves £10 a day.
Right in the middle of...

Located in Bowness village, just next to St Martins church. Couldn't be more central. Just a few minutes walk from the lake and very close to many good pubs and restaurants. Parking permit is supplied for large car park nearby. Only 5 rooms so quite small and cosy. Not 5 star luxury but clean and has everything you would need...

Stayed here WC 18th Feb. Couldnt fault the cottage or owner or Lakelovers! Was as described and have no idea what the waffle is about too small, Its a COTTAGE!!! Four of us stayed and had ample room. Thanks for a fine week............
We stayed here for one night in a family room on a whistle stop visit. We chose the hotel based on the price (£75 b&b for 3 of us) and the many excellent reviews published here. The hotel is in a very central location and has the benefit of permit parking in a car park a few minutes away.

The cottage was built in 1650 and the rooms are very small. However, its centtral location and the comfort of the room makes up for this. While the bathroom needed some minor maintenance, it was clean. One bit of advice is to caution people about using the adjacent restaurant.
Rose Cottage is situated in the centre of Bowness on Windermere. From the cottage we had access to all the cafes, shops and restaurants in the town. The cottage is also very close to the lake (2 mins walk). Our room was a good size but the shower room was very small as was to be expected in a property...
