Having booked a superior room I was expecting a nice room-however what I got was an average room which considering the cost(£90) per night i was extremely dissapointed.staying in room one the noise level of the bar and restaurant just below was very noisy.the windows were very draughty and rattled constantly.there was a big gap behind the bed and no... Room large, very clean and comfortable. However on a very NOISY ROAD!! Secondary glazing would be very welcome. Reception lets the hotel down badly, needs a new carpet and a coat of paint. As room was above the kitchen I did not like the prevailing smell of food. Staff very friendly especially housekeeping and breakfast waitress. Breakfast excellent with great... More

I had the good fortune to experience two nights at Lamplighters at the end of July. We booked via booking.com for about £100 per night with breakfast. We have used other hotels in Windermere but decided to try the Lamplighter as wanted somewhere with a good restaurant. We arrived early, midday and checked that it was OK to leave the... More

My husband and I didn't stay at The Lamplighter but had an exceptionally good Evening Meal. The staff were efficient but need to smile more and relax. I booked the meal via email and the response was quick and pleasant. To add to the experience the young couple on the next table ,who were from the Wirral, were very nice... More

Having looked at the reviews of others and doing so before we stayed here, over all it didn't live up to expectations on all fronts. The reception area is just approaching need of updating and we we had to wait a while to get checked in, but when staff arrived we were treated quickly and pleasantly. Moving up the stairs... More

We have just stayed here for 4 nights and have really enjoyed our time here. The staff are very friendly and nothing is a problem. We have 2 rooms as we travelling with our son and the rooms are clean, fresh and easy to get into. If you need accommodation in the Lakes district we can highly recommended the Lamplighter.

Stayed here with the family in march. We were all impressed with our rooms. Our room was massive and the bathroom wasn't far off the size of our bedroom. Ideal location and great prices. Would recommend

Here just overnight, have eaten here but not stayed before, the welcome was heartfelt which was a good indication of what is to follow. A quick aperitif on the terrace in the sun followed by food that was tasty and plentiful. The room is superb although a bed so huge I need to text my wife to come nearer.. Everything... More
