We stayed here in July 15 for three nights. The hotel is ideally situated for the railway station and bus services. We had a deluxe room, which was large, clean, quite and looked like it recently had been redecorated. We eat in the restaurant on Saturday evening and was not disappointed. The service was excellent, food was just stunning and... More

We stayed here for two nights celebrating a birthday and anniversary. I'd read the reviews and we weren't disappointed. Lovely, friendly staff and a fantastic location! The room was of a great standard and the breakfast was yummy! We'll definitely be back.

We stayed here for 4 nights. The room was big and well fitted. All hotels in the Lake district are used to walkers & hikers. The bed was comfortable. The breakfasts were enough so that you needed eat again until the evening. The bathroom was very big with double basins. The staff were very friendly and helpful. they made the... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in October 2014. We had a couple,of nights away for our birthday. The hotel is reasonably priced and has a lovely little restaurant / bar. We only ate breakfast there which was lovely - although hubby would prefer more than 1 rasher of bacon !! Room was big with a lovely big bathroom. Very... More

Having been given a choice of three standards of room we picked the most expensive and having read the reviews on line Room 5 did not meet up to expectations. A separate seating area consisted of two small chairs crammed into the corner of the bedroom and the décor did not look recently done. We had a two course meal... More

My husband and I spent a few very pleasant days at The Lamplighters recently. It is well situated in Windermere which felt less crowded than near by Bowness. All the staff were attentive and helpful, the room (room 10) was clean and spacious with the bathroom being large and luxurious. Bit of a climb to get there which was quite... More

My boyfriend and I decided on our weekend getaway here. We were greeted by James who was lovely and informative. We were shown to our room (room 3) which was very spacious, the en-suite was small and compact which I had no problem with. It was very clean and I was very satisfied with everything. I will definitely be recommending... More

Super location and warm welcome by a mixture of mature and youngersters but good service. Menu limited and requires ordering 24-48 hours in advance again super quality although priced on the higher side well worth it excellent lounge/dining room plenty of space even for a party of 16! Gents toilets need urgent attention to match the quality of the surroundings.

My partner and I recently stayed at the Lamplighter for the weekend and were both very impressed. We received a very warm and professional welcome from the manager and felt right at home. The room was clean, spacious and provided all of the necessary amenities. I would certainly recommend this hotel if you're staying in the Lakes. Couldn't ask for... More

We spent a lovely bank holiday weekend at the lamplighter as a romantic weekend away with our young baby (yes this is possible!). The staff were lovely, very welcoming and made us feel quite at home. The room was lovely and clean, well equipped and comfy with plenty of room for our travel cot. The breakfast were very tasty and... More
