Although we had a minor problem finding our final destination this was mainly due to poor road signage in Windemere rather than directions as The Coppice is really conveniently place closed to the road linking Windermere and Bowness Once we arrived we recieved a super welcome from Barbara and were shown to a lovely room with spotless bathroom(Spa bath) and... Thanks Chris & Barbara, for a warm welcome and a terrific stay. Good quality rooms, nice and clean, with tea and coffee. A nice touch is the sherry. Make sure you are hungry when odering the full breakfast, good quality produce used, very tasty. We stayed in room 2 very comfortable. The hotel is nice and central for the town... More

We arrived and was greeted immediately and shown to our room .the room was spotlessly clean fresh and was in perfect condition. The breakfast was outstanding and the dinning area was all set out ready with fresh orange cereal and a number of other starters. The tea was in a lovely pot and the food was really hot and was... Firstly you are hit by the amazing gardens surrounding this guest house, colours coordinating with the exterior of the house . Initially this draws you into The Coppice ,once through the front door and you are spoilt with the wonderful scent of fresh Lilies an amazing array sat in a vase in the porch window . The landlady was warm... More

just returned from The Coppice. had 2 nights there. We had the four poster bed in room 2. Lovely comfortable, clean crisp bedding. Well stocked refreshments and loved the sherry. Excellent location to walk into Bowness only 10 mins. Walking back up a hill so beware if not able to do that. You can get a taxi from guest house... More

Wonderful review and some very good point about your stay. breakfast some times gets a little busy when we have to step it up a gear when all 18 guests come down around the same time so no one is left waiting for there breakfast. we do enjoy being a little further away from Bowness where the lake is with... I had mixed experiences with this guest house. Chris gave a wonderful welcome and couldn't have been more helpful, the room was immaculate, and there were really nice touches like a decanter of sherry, and smellies for the shower. My only quibbles are fairly minor, and based on my personal circumstances. As someone staying in the Lakes for a few... More

Stayed at The Coppice for the Great North Swim Friday to Sunday. Warm welcome on arrival, room really good with four poster bed, shower room a little cramped but it did the job. Nice touches like a small decanter of sherry in your room. Breakfast fantastic - huge range of fruits, cereals and cooked items to order. Close to Windermere... More

We stayed here from Friday night to Sunday and had a great stay. We were welcomed very warmly, shown around and given lots of information about the local area. We were in the area for the Great North Swim, and the owners went out of their way to help us, from advising us on parking and transport, to making sure... More

Hi thank you for the wonderful review of the Coppice, we really do try very hard to make every bodies stay that bit special and the 5 rooms we have refurbished have had excellent reviews. We arrived Friday afternoon (and had a very friendly greeting from Chris) and left Sunday morning. The room was wonderful, very romantic and had been decorated with red rose petals as I'd requested. The bath in the room was also very nice, and the lights on the floor around it added a finishing touch. The en suite was also very... More

Before we arrived we were slightly nervous as we usually stay in one of the boutique hotels in Windermere. Due to the price of them we decided to try a guest house for a change as we wanted a last minute weekend away - not too expensive. Obviously The Coppice is no boutique hotel but it's also no where near... More
