The three of us stayed at the Bank House B&B whilst doing the C2C cycle route. We arrived exhausted after 50 plus miles in the saddle and were greeted by our very friendly hosts and a delicious slice of lemon drizzle cake. The house and rooms oozed traditional charm and we were made to feel very comfortable. The breakfast the... More

On booking the bank house thus was my first visit to a b&b. it was such a beautiful property with excellent view from the dining room where breakfast is served. We stayed in room 3 which was decent size and very nicely presented. The owners gave a very warm welcome. There was a wide variety for the breakfast choice. I... More

We spent two days over the August Bank Holiday weekend at the Bank House B&B. We were warmly welcomed and delighted with the accommodation, location and service. The breakfast menu was varied enough to suit all tastes and the produce was very fresh and locally produced. The proprietors were very friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge about the... On arrival at Bank House, our host was extremely welcoming. Our double room overlooked the garden, it was clean with a good sized en suite bathroom. The food was lovely and the owners use locally sourced products as much as possible. Our host supplied us with a discount voucher for the Ullswater Steamer and there was delicious home made cake... Our double room was £80 for the night including breakfast and was booked best rate via the direct website. We recieved an exceptionally friendly and helpful welcome upon arriving at Bank House. We were even given an upgraded room, which was lovely, a good size. Showever was great and bed comfortable. Breakfast took place overlooking the marvellous view over Penrith.... More

Bank House is a steep walk up a hill, as the name might suggest, but once you are up there the views are absolutely fantastic. The dining room has a huge picture window which looks out over the garden to the hills. The food was lovely, plenty of choice the smoked haddock and soft poached eggs were delicious. Very nice... Me and my boyfriend stayed in Bank House B&B for a weekend in July 2014. We were very pleased with our experience. We did not rent a car but toured around Penrith and Ullswater using public transport. Bank House B&B was located about 20 minutes from the railway station/15 minutes from the town centre where we caught the bus, so... More

A pleasant surprise beyond the front door! The B & B has been renovated keeping some of it's original features. Lovely breakfast room with fabulous views. Breakfast fabulous, the porridge is excellent. Rooms are beautifully decorated, very comfy beds, tea and coffee facilities, hairdryer with availability for iron/board etc. to make your stay comfortable including washing if required. We had... My husband, Father in Law and I stayed at Bank House on 20th June. We were doing the c2c and FinL was backup. Initially the outside of the house looked a little tatty if I am honest and I was thinking Oh my God as I had booked it, but we were shown where to safely store our bikes, my... More

Very nice large house with classic rooms and en suite. Even better is the breakfast made with locally sourced goods. 20 min walk from the station and 10 mins from town but getting up the slope is worth it as it gives you views over the town and hills beyond. Recommend the trip to Ullswater which can be easily travelled... More
