We were looking for a B&B which would break our journey to the Highlands of Scotland and Bank House more than fitted the bill. It is conveniently situated about a 10 minute drive from the M6. The property sits on the bend of a steep hill in half an acre of beautiful gardens. We were greeted with a friendly welcome... More

We have just returned from Penrith, staying 3 nights at Bank House. What a wonderful B and B. Sarah and her husband were friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were lovely.. We tried different food each morning and each time we were not disappointed. Try the smoked salmon and scrambled egg and porridge "Bank House style". Delicious. Our room (3) was... More

We stayed at Bank House for a weekend in August, a Saturday and Sunday night. The bedroom was lovely, overlooking the garden. The room and the en-suite were spotlessly clean and the bed was comfy. Hosts were welcoming, with lots of local knowledge if you need it, however they gave you space too so you didn't feel smothered or uncomfortable.... More

Stayed for a night on 19/09/14 and wow. Lovely house in a excellent quiet location overlloking Penrith and up towards the Lakes. Sarha and her husband are extremely friendly and welcoming and gave us some good hints on local places to eat. The room was clean and well laid out with coffee and tea, robes and towels. Breakfast was superb... More

The three of us stayed at the Bank House B&B whilst doing the C2C cycle route. We arrived exhausted after 50 plus miles in the saddle and were greeted by our very friendly hosts and a delicious slice of lemon drizzle cake. The house and rooms oozed traditional charm and we were made to feel very comfortable. The breakfast the... More

On booking the bank house thus was my first visit to a b&b. it was such a beautiful property with excellent view from the dining room where breakfast is served. We stayed in room 3 which was decent size and very nicely presented. The owners gave a very warm welcome. There was a wide variety for the breakfast choice. I... More

We spent two days over the August Bank Holiday weekend at the Bank House B&B. We were warmly welcomed and delighted with the accommodation, location and service. The breakfast menu was varied enough to suit all tastes and the produce was very fresh and locally produced. The proprietors were very friendly and helpful with a wealth of knowledge about the... On arrival at Bank House, our host was extremely welcoming. Our double room overlooked the garden, it was clean with a good sized en suite bathroom. The food was lovely and the owners use locally sourced products as much as possible. Our host supplied us with a discount voucher for the Ullswater Steamer and there was delicious home made cake... Bank House is a steep walk up a hill, as the name might suggest, but once you are up there the views are absolutely fantastic. The dining room has a huge picture window which looks out over the garden to the hills. The food was lovely, plenty of choice the smoked haddock and soft poached eggs were delicious. Very nice...
