On arrival at Bank House, our host was extremely welcoming. Our double room overlooked the garden, it was clean with a good sized en suite bathroom. The food was lovely and the owners use locally sourced products as much as possible. Our host supplied us with a discount voucher for the Ullswater Steamer and there was delicious home made cake... Our double room was £80 for the night including breakfast and was booked best rate via the direct website. We recieved an exceptionally friendly and helpful welcome upon arriving at Bank House. We were even given an upgraded room, which was lovely, a good size. Showever was great and bed comfortable. Breakfast took place overlooking the marvellous view over Penrith.... More

Bank House is a steep walk up a hill, as the name might suggest, but once you are up there the views are absolutely fantastic. The dining room has a huge picture window which looks out over the garden to the hills. The food was lovely, plenty of choice the smoked haddock and soft poached eggs were delicious. Very nice... Me and my boyfriend stayed in Bank House B&B for a weekend in July 2014. We were very pleased with our experience. We did not rent a car but toured around Penrith and Ullswater using public transport. Bank House B&B was located about 20 minutes from the railway station/15 minutes from the town centre where we caught the bus, so... More

A pleasant surprise beyond the front door! The B & B has been renovated keeping some of it's original features. Lovely breakfast room with fabulous views. Breakfast fabulous, the porridge is excellent. Rooms are beautifully decorated, very comfy beds, tea and coffee facilities, hairdryer with availability for iron/board etc. to make your stay comfortable including washing if required. We had... My husband, Father in Law and I stayed at Bank House on 20th June. We were doing the c2c and FinL was backup. Initially the outside of the house looked a little tatty if I am honest and I was thinking Oh my God as I had booked it, but we were shown where to safely store our bikes, my... More

Very nice large house with classic rooms and en suite. Even better is the breakfast made with locally sourced goods. 20 min walk from the station and 10 mins from town but getting up the slope is worth it as it gives you views over the town and hills beyond. Recommend the trip to Ullswater which can be easily travelled... More

Really nice B&B with lovely garden-located close to the town centre! We had the King Size room which was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. Extremely comfortable bed and good sized shower room! Breakfast is ordered the evening before, you have a choice of serving times so everyone gets to eat when it suits you...and it's very good food, locally sourced!... More

We, a group of 3, spent 3 nights at Bank House in June. The hosts were very welcoming and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The bedrooms and bathrooms, although not sumptuous, were very much more than adequate and were clean and well equipped with coffee and fresh milk available. The dining room had a terrific view south over... More

This is the b & b you hope to find. Spacious room, comfortable bed, crisp linen, fiery hot water and beautiful view over the garden and beyond. Loved the organic and Fairtrade sourced breakfast. Every aspect of our stay was faultless. We can only apologise for miscommunication due to emails failing to transmit. Very understanding and much appreciated. Highly recommend.
